Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Java Backend / Full-Stack Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java/J2EE, Spring ecosystem, RESTful and SOAP services, and distributed systems and a proven ability to deliver complex, high-volume, secure applications that meet functional and non-functional requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure software meets functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements.


• Design, code, and unit test solutions with clear, robust, and well-tested interfaces for seamless integration.


• Apply sound development and testing practices for web applications.


• Contribute to story refinement and requirement definition.


• Estimate effort and guide delivery through the lifecycle.


• Perform spikes or proofs of concept to mitigate risk or validate new ideas.


• Utilize multiple architectural components across data, application, and business layers.


• Assist the team in resolving technical complexities.


• Enhance integration, regression, and performance test suites, analyze test reports, and triage issues.


• Document and communicate deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality details.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience building and supporting high-volume applications.


• Expertise with Spring Framework, including Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Integration, Spring MVC, and Spring Data JPA.


• Strong understanding of SOAP web services with XML and JSON, and experience building RESTful services.


• Working knowledge of front-end technologies such as Handlebars, Vue, and ReactJS.


• Proficiency with XML and JSON binding libraries (JAXB, Jackson, Gson).


• Unit testing with JUnit and contribution to automated test suites.


• Experience with Git, Git branching and merge strategies, Bitbucket, Maven, Artifactory, and Eclipse or equivalent IDE.


• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace.


• Familiarity with MQ technologies (WebSphere MQ or ActiveMQ).


• Experience in performance tuning and understanding of JVM internals.


• Experience with Groovy scripting.


• Strong object-oriented programming skills and knowledge of Java design patterns.


• Experience in distributed systems development using Java/J2EE and web technologies.


• Practice in defensive programming and application security.


• Experience with GitHub and Copilot.

Preferred Skills:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related field.


• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience.


• Exposure to Agile methodologies and collaborative team environments.


• Ability to communicate complex technology solutions to technical, business, and management audiences.


• Strong interpersonal and analytical skills for requirement breakdown and problem solving.

Role Logistics:

• Start month: November.


• Onsite expectation: Hybrid, minimum three days onsite per week in Newark, DE.


• Interview process: One to two rounds. Video or in-person required. Glider ID verification.


• Sponsorship: Candidates must not require sponsorship now or in the future.


• Submission guidance: Maximum three submissions per vendor.
