The position focuses on
Power BI platform administration, continued support for
legacy SSRS and paginated reporting, and controlled adoption of
Microsoft Fabric capabilities. The role emphasizes operational reliability, availability, and compliance, rather than large-scale infrastructure transformation.
The engineer will coordinate with infrastructure, platform, and analytics teams to ensure reporting services remain stable, secure, and compliant within a regulated environment. While limited infrastructure realignment activities may occur, the primary scope is day-to-day platform administration, issue resolution, and execution of approved platform changes.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:- Administer and support the Power BI platform, including Service, Gateways, Desktop, and Report Server.
- Install, configure, patch, monitor, and troubleshoot Power BI gateways, including clustered gateway environments.
- Manage data connections, credentials, access controls, and security configurations.
- Provide operational support for SSRS and legacy paginated reports, ensuring availability and continuity.
- Support paginated report migration planning and legacy coexistence strategies.
- Administer Microsoft Fabric, including workspace and capacity management.
- Maintain awareness of OneLake governance fundamentals, including access management, shortcut usage, and auditing.
- Execute infrastructure and platform changes in alignment with enterprise change management processes.
- Perform troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for platform and reporting issues.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate projects and platform initiatives across infrastructure, security, and analytics teams.
- Maintain accurate enterprise documentation and configuration records.
- Ensure all activities align with governance, compliance, and regulatory expectations in a controlled environment.
