About the JobIn this contingent role, you will support the ongoing operation and stabilization of enterprise analytics platforms within a regulated enterprise environment. The focus of this position is on operational continuity, platform administration, and governance-aligned reporting services, with particular emphasis on the Power BI platform, legacy SSRS and paginated reporting, and Microsoft Fabric administration.
You will consult on complex infrastructure engineering initiatives, analyze multi-faceted technical challenges, and collaborate strategically with cross-functional stakeholders. While limited infrastructure transitions or realignment activities may occur, the primary scope is day-to-day platform administration, legacy system support, and coordination of approved infrastructure and platform changes.
Responsibilities- Consult on complex, large-scale Infrastructure Engineering initiatives with broad organizational impact.
- Analyze and resolve multi-faceted, long-term infrastructure challenges, incorporating technical, operational, and compliance considerations.
- Support the administration and operational stability of the Power BI platform, including Service, Gateways, Desktop, and Report Server.
- Maintain continuity of legacy SSRS and paginated reporting services, including migration planning where applicable.
- Administer Microsoft Fabric workspaces and capacities in alignment with enterprise governance standards.
- Support governance-aligned use of OneLake, including access awareness, shortcut usage, and auditing fundamentals.
- Execute approved infrastructure and platform changes while ensuring service availability and compliance.
- Coordinate tasks and initiatives across infrastructure, analytics, and reporting teams.
- Perform operational troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution.
- Develop and maintain enterprise documentation and configuration standards.
- Communicate effectively with client personnel and stakeholders to align deliverables and expectations.
Minimum Qualifications- 5+ years of experience in Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions, or equivalent practical experience demonstrated through:
- Industry work or consulting experience
- Formal training or education
- Military experience
Preferred Qualifications- Experience administering Power BI at an enterprise scale (Service, Gateways, Desktop, Report Server).
- Hands-on experience with Power BI gateway installation, clustering, patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Experience managing data connections, credentials, and access controls.
- Strong knowledge of SSRS administration and legacy paginated reporting.
- Experience with paginated report migration planning and continuity strategies.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric administration, including workspace and capacity management.
- Understanding of OneLake governance fundamentals and usage monitoring.
- Experience operating platforms within regulated or compliance-driven environments.
- Proficiency with PowerShell automation and scripting.
- Strong operational troubleshooting and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage and track work across multiple teams and initiatives.
