Controls Engineer | Battle Creek, MI

Salary Range: $83,000 - $128,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Battle Creek region seeking Controls Engineers. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates-not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and tests control systems for manufacturing processes.
  • Programs and troubleshoots PLCs, HMIs, and robotic systems.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate control systems with new and existing equipment.
  • Develops and maintains detailed documentation for control systems, including schematics and software code.
  • Conducts root cause analysis and implements corrective actions for control system failures.
  • Provides technical support and training to operations and maintenance personnel.
  • Stays current with emerging control technologies and industry best practices.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial automation and controls, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, B&R) and HMI/SCADA development.
  • Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, OPC UA).
  • Experience with robotic systems, vision systems, and motion control.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex control systems and implement effective solutions.
