Overview

Build It Right is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to support data center and commercial construction projects in the Phoenix area. This is a highly visible, hands-on role focused on ensuring a safe work environment across active job sites. You'll play a critical role in enforcing OSHA compliance, driving safety culture, and supporting crews working in telecom and structured cabling environments.

Work Schedule

  • Rotating schedule:
    • Monday-Saturday (60 hours)
    • Monday-Saturday (60 hours)
    • Monday-Friday (50 hours)
  • 10-hour shifts

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor job sites to ensure safe work practices are being followed
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify and mitigate hazards
  • Investigate job site incidents and injuries
  • Oversee and coordinate OSHA evaluations and inspections
  • Review project plans and blueprints to ensure safety compliance
  • Inspect tools and equipment for safe operation
  • Promote and enforce safety policies and procedures
  • Gather feedback from crews to continuously improve safety practices
  • Manage and distribute PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

Risk Assessment Responsibilities

  • Identify potential hazards (physical, chemical, environmental, and operational)
  • Analyze and evaluate risks based on severity and likelihood
  • Implement safety controls and preventive measures
  • Ensure ongoing monitoring and adjustments to safety plans
  • Maintain proper documentation for compliance and training

Required Experience

  • 3+ years overseeing OSHA evaluations and inspections
  • 3+ years actively monitoring construction sites for safety compliance
  • Experience in construction environments, ideally telecom, low-voltage, or data center work
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and enforcement

Relevant Technical Environment

  • Structured cabling (Cat5, Cat6)
  • Low-voltage systems
  • Cable pulling and outside plant (OSP) work

Pay Range

  • $35 - $40/hour

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
