Scope of Work/Job Characteristics


The Systems Administrator will serve as the principal line of communication for the project team. The


duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows:


- Perform Microsoft Azure Entra ID and Active Directory management activities;


- Develop and maintain processes that optimize Microsoft server and Azure resources;


- Develop, deploy, and maintain processes that optimize Amazon Web Services (AWS) services


and resources;


- Analyze Azure resource performance to identify resource contention and recommend changes or


upgrades as needed to ensure optimization;


- Develop and maintain technical specifications, standards, procedures, and systems


documentation;


- Work with data center staff, OIT, and users to perform resource deployments, upgrades, and


configuration changes;


- Administer and configure Azure infrastructure security as needed for OIT staff and users;


- Assist Azure application owners, administrators, and users with appropriate application access;


- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve Windows server issues with minimal impact on users;


- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve Linux server issues with minimal impact on users;


- Write PowerShell scripts to be used to monitor server properties and perform Active Directory and


Azure management activities;


- Research and recommend appropriate technical solutions to meet functional requirements;


- Provide recommendations for possible process improvements within the Department's


infrastructure team;


- Create schedules for the development and implementation of specific software systems; and


- Perform additional Systems Administrator tasks as required by the Department.


Required Qualifications


A bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science,


Information Systems, or other related field, or four (4) years of equivalent work experience is required.


Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis when applicable.


The Department requires the following experience, skills, and knowledge for this position:


- A minimum of five (5) years of Windows server administration experience with three (3) years


administering Windows 2016 and newer;


- A minimum of three (3) years of Microsoft Azure and Cloud experience and two (2) years of AWS


experience;


- A minimum of five (5) years administering Active Directory, Domain Name System (DNS), and Group


Policy in environments with over 1,000 users;


- A minimum of three (3) years of Linux server management experience;


- Demonstrated experience writing, testing, and executing PowerShell scripts; and


- Proven track record installing, maintaining, and supporting third-party applications within virtual and


cloud environments.


NOTE: In addition to the above list, the selected Candidate must successfully complete a Level II


Background Check.


Preferred Qualifications


The Department prefers the Candidate to have the following experience, skills, and/or knowledge for this position:


- Proven experience managing projects with a large, distributed user base;


- Demonstrated ability to develop, track, and manage schedules across multiple projects;


- Experience with state government projects;


- Experience managing and reporting project metrics in strict compliance with Rule 60GG-1, F.A.C.;


- Experience working with technical programming teams;


- Ability to demonstrate a professional can-do attitude with the initiative to solve complex problems;


- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interface effectively with diverse stakeholders;


- Knowledge of IT standards in a criminal justice environment;


- Knowledge in other IT areas such as programming, data analytics, etc.;


- Proven team player attitude with a high-energy level and diligent work ethic; and


- Ability to meet or exceed deadlines, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and organize and prioritize activities.
