Our client, a well-established organization in the retail and consumer services industry, is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to lead enterprise-level architecture initiatives and drive technology strategy across a diverse portfolio of systems and solutions. This role plays a critical part in aligning business objectives with scalable, future-ready technology solutions, supporting both current operations and long-term growth.

The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership experience to guide architecture decisions, influence stakeholders, and ensure compliance with enterprise standards and governance.


Job Description
The Solutions Architect will lead the design, development, and governance of enterprise-wide technology solutions. This role is responsible for translating business needs into technical architecture, guiding product and engineering teams, and ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Translate business and technical requirements into scalable architectural designs and blueprints
  • Collaborate with product managers and product owners to support long-term product strategy and architectural runway
  • Analyze business capabilities, value streams, and processes to design solutions that drive targeted business outcomes
  • Evaluate current systems and identify opportunities to modernize technologies or address misalignment with business goals
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and external factors to inform architectural decisions
  • Support lifecycle management decisions (maintain, modernize, or retire systems and services)
  • Conduct market and competitive analysis to assess impacts on solution design
  • Identify technical debt, legacy system risks, and recommend remediation strategies
  • Lead evaluation and selection of software platforms, standards, and vendor solutions, including total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis
  • Provide architectural guidance across application and infrastructure projects
  • Develop architecture artifacts including standards, reference models, and solution designs
  • Ensure governance and compliance with enterprise architecture principles and standards
  • Support and mentor cross-functional teams, including agile teams, in architecture best practices
  • Define and enforce architectural guidelines, patterns, and frameworks aligned with future-state vision


Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience across multiple IT disciplines such as application development, infrastructure architecture, cloud platforms, network management, or database systems
  • Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise architecture blueprints, roadmaps, and solution strategies
  • Strong knowledge of backend technologies and programming languages
  • Experience with database technologies such as MySQL, MongoDB, and Oracle
  • Familiarity with frontend technologies including JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Experience with enterprise platforms, cloud environments, or CRM systems
  • Understanding of system development lifecycle (SDLC), ITSM, and ITIL frameworks
  • Knowledge of IT governance, standards, and controls
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to technical and executive audiences
  • Experience working in cross-functional or outsourced development environments
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with AI/ML frameworks and data-driven architecture
  • Strong understanding of integration, networking, and security architecture principles
  • Knowledge of financial modeling and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and product management practices
  • Ability to support agile teams with architectural guidance, risk assessment, and technical strategy
  • Exposure to multiple platforms, environments, and emerging technologies
  • Industry experience within retail, consumer services, or similar sectors
