Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Akeneo Architect to lead the architecture, design, and implementation of the Akeneo Product Information Management (PIM) platform. This role will act as the technical authority for PIM, ensuring scalable design, seamless integrations, and alignment with enterprise architecture to support merchandising, eCommerce, and marketing functions.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned PIM expert with deep expertise in Akeneo architecture, data modeling, integrations, and enterprise system design, along with the ability to drive best practices and mentor teams.

Required Skills:

• 8+ years of experience in PIM implementation and architecture, with strong focus on Akeneo.
• Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale PIM solutions.

Deep expertise in:

• Akeneo architecture and customization
• Data modeling, taxonomy, and governance

• Strong experience with:
  • APIs and integrations
  • Middleware/ETL tools (MuleSoft, Boomi, Informatica, etc.)
  • Scripting/programming (Python, JavaScript, PHP preferred for Akeneo)
• Solid understanding of cloud architectures and microservices.
• Strong problem-solving and leadership skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in Retail / eCommerce / Consumer Goods domains.
• Familiarity with Akeneo PIM Enterprise Edition and marketplace ecosystem.
• Knowledge of DAM, ERP, PLM, and CMS platforms.
• Exposure to AI-driven product enrichment solutions.
• Experience in Agile / DevOps environments.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Design

• Define and own the end-to-end architecture of the Akeneo PIM platform.
• Design scalable data models, product taxonomies, attribute structures, and governance frameworks.
• Establish best practices for multi-channel product data management (eCommerce, marketplaces, stores).
• Provide architectural guidance for environment setup (dev, staging, prod) and deployment strategies.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and compliance standards.

Implementation & Configuration Oversight

• Lead and oversee Akeneo configuration, including attributes, families, workflows, roles, and permissions.
• Guide development teams on customization, extensions, and plugin development.
• Ensure best practices in data migration, validation, and enrichment workflows.
• Review and approve technical designs and configurations.

Integration & Ecosystem Design

• Architect and govern integrations between Akeneo and enterprise systems such as:
• ERP, PLM, DAM, eCommerce platforms, CMS
• Design and oversee API-first integrations, middleware usage, and data pipelines.
• Define standards for data exchange formats (JSON, XML, CSV) and integration patterns.
• Provide direction for integrating AI/ML capabilities for product enrichment and automation.

Performance Optimization & Governance

• Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of the PIM platform.
• Define and implement data governance, quality standards, and validation frameworks.
• Monitor system performance and recommend improvements.
• Stay current with Akeneo roadmap, features, and upgrades.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Act as the technical SME and advisor for stakeholders and leadership.
• Collaborate with business teams to translate requirements into scalable architecture.
• Mentor developers, engineers, and PIM specialists.
• Drive design reviews, architectural governance, and best practices adoption.

Documentation & Training

• Create and maintain architecture diagrams, technical standards, and integration blueprints.
• Provide guidance and training to internal teams and super-users.
• Establish reusable frameworks and accelerators for future implementations.
