An established financial services organization is seeking a Technical Writer or Documentation Specialist in Northern Virginia or Pensacola, FL to develop clear, user-friendly documentation and support SharePoint-based knowledge management initiatives. About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: Standard business
- Setting: Hybrid (3 days onsite per week in either Northern Virginia or Pensacola, FL
Responsibilities:
- Develop, write, and maintain technical documentation such as user guides, SOPs, administrator guides, and process documents
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly content
- Design, administer, and maintain SharePoint sites, libraries, navigation, and metadata structures
- Build and enhance SharePoint solutions using pages, lists, web parts, workflows, and integrations
- Partner with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements, validate content, and support knowledge management initiatives
Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in technical writing, documentation development, or knowledge management
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Information Systems, or a related field
- Experience supporting enterprise systems, applications, or technical teams
- Strong technical writing, editing, and documentation skills
- Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, actionable content
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
Desired Skills:
- SharePoint administration experience including site design, document libraries, governance, and content management
- Experience developing SharePoint solutions using pages, lists, workflows, and integrations
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint
- Familiarity with Agile and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies
- Experience with diagramming tools such as Microsoft Visio
- Knowledge of information architecture, content strategy, and knowledge management best practices
- Experience using AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot to improve documentation efficiency and content management processes
