Summary

Title: Sr. Project Manager -  Legacy Modernization
Location: Austin, TX (Onsite)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced PM/Business Analyst (PM/BA) to support enterprise modernization initiatives involving the conversion of legacy applications into modern, web-based solutions. This role will work closely with business stakeholders, developers, architects, and database teams to analyze existing systems, define future-state requirements, and support successful application modernization efforts.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead business and technical analysis activities for legacy application modernization projects.
  • Analyze existing systems, workflows, and databases to document current-state functionality and business processes.
  • Gather, document, and validate business, functional, technical, and non-functional requirements.
  • Perform gap analysis between legacy systems and future-state web applications.
  • Collaborate with development, architecture, and database teams to ensure accurate implementation of requirements.
  • Support project planning, milestone tracking, issue management, and risk escalation activities.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, requirement walkthroughs, and approval sessions.
  • Provide clarification and support to development and QA teams throughout the SDLC.
  • Communicate project updates, dependencies, risks, and status to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Identify modernization opportunities and recommend process or system improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • 11+ years of experience in legacy system analysis and modernization initiatives.
  • 11+ years of experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, particularly web-based application development.
  • 11+ years of experience in requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation.
  • Strong experience translating legacy application functionality into modern web-based requirements.
  • Extensive experience in stakeholder communication, facilitation, and consensus building.
  • Experience analyzing SQL-based data models, integrations, and workflows.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to create clear, testable, and traceable requirements documentation.
  • Experience working effectively with cross-functional technical and business teams.
  • Ability to identify system gaps, compliance risks, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills in fast-paced project environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 11+ years of experience in PM/Business Analyst roles.
  • 8+ years of experience supporting legacy-to-web application modernization projects.
  • Hands-on experience working with .NET development teams and SQL databases.
  • Experience supporting large-scale IT systems in government or regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
  • PMP, PMI-PBA, CBAP, or related certifications preferred.
