Role: Business Systems Analyst
Location: 100% Onsite - Tualatin, OR
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Annual Salary Range: $85-115K DOE
Position Overview
Hiring on behalf of our client, we are seeking a Business Systems Analyst to support business-critical applications, reporting initiatives, process improvements, and technology projects across the organization. This role will serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and IT, working closely with leadership to identify business needs, evaluate existing processes, and deliver technology-driven solutions.
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of business analysis, systems support, and data analytics experience, with a strong background in Microsoft technologies, reporting tools, and database management.
Essential Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications, workflows, process maps, and technical requirements.
- Evaluate existing processes and recommend improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Design, develop, and maintain operational and executive reporting solutions using Power BI and other reporting tools.
- Analyze data from multiple systems to identify trends, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and business intelligence solutions that support decision-making.
- Write and execute SQL queries for reporting, data validation, troubleshooting, and analysis.
- Collaborate with IT resources and third-party vendors on system enhancements, integrations, and implementations.
- Support testing efforts, including user acceptance testing, defect tracking, and validation of business requirements.
- Create and maintain system documentation, business process documentation, and end-user training materials.
- Provide end-user support and training related to business systems, reporting tools, and process changes.
- Monitor system performance and assist with issue resolution and root cause analysis.
- Participate in multiple projects simultaneously while managing priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Provide regular status updates, recommendations, and project insights to leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or related role.
- Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into technical solutions.
- Strong understanding of business systems, workflows, and software development lifecycle methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence platforms.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting.
- Experience supporting system implementations, enhancements, and integrations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within a Microsoft-focused technology environment.
- Knowledge of ETL processes, data warehousing, and data modeling concepts.
- Experience creating executive-level dashboards and analytics solutions.
- Familiarity with ERP, CRM, or other enterprise business systems.
- Experience supporting a small or lean IT organization.
- Exposure to project management methodologies and change management practices.
