OverviewApex Systems is seeking an
Electrical Engineer to support a large aerospace and defense program. In this role, you will work within a fast-paced engineering environment, collaborating with design, integration, and test teams to support the development and verification of complex electrical systems. This position is onsite in Chandler, AZ.
Job Duties- Perform analysis, design, and/or testing of complex electrical system designs.
- Review internal, external, industry, and customer requirements for system and subsystem development.
- Conduct detailed analyses to support and verify designs; prepare and deliver technical briefings.
- Lead the development, coordination, and execution of test programs.
- Drive troubleshooting efforts and perform failure investigations.
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct senior peer reviews.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering and operations teams.
Responsibilities- Apply broad knowledge of electrical engineering standards and practices.
- Interface effectively with other engineering disciplines.
- Prepare technical material for requirements and design reviews.
- Perform qualification testing, acceptance testing, characterization, troubleshooting, and detailed test data review.
- Analyze data for trends indicating component degradation or off-nominal performance.
- Conduct testing to characterize anomalous component behaviors.
- Actively contribute to team goals and provide high-quality customer service.
- Escalate issues appropriately and maintain disciplined engineering practices.
- Decompose requirements from technical documentation and design discussions.
- Assess technical risks and uncertainties in designs.
- Participate in internal and supplier trade studies.
- Emphasize safety in all aspects of engineering work.
- Provide formal peer reviews of engineering designs and analyses.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years of experience or a Master's degree with 0 years of experience.
- U.S. Citizenship required (due to ability to obtain DoD clearance).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications- Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher.
- Experience with missile, launch vehicle, or related aerospace systems.
- Prior experience in design, testing, integration, or deployment of electrical components or subsystems.
- Experience generating engineering documentation such as drawings, specifications, and test procedures.
- Experience resolving nonconformances or conducting root-cause failure analyses.
- Strong problem-solving skills across technical, schedule, cost, and resource challenges.
- Mentoring or cross-training experience on diverse electrical systems.
- Proficiency with basic test equipment (power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMMs, electronic loads).
- Experience with analytical software tools (MATLAB, Python) for data reduction and trend analysis.
