We also provide these services to businesses, as well as local and county governments, in the Midwest and nationwide.
Our Client is looking for a Systems Architect that will provide innovative solutions within a diverse Enterprise environment with multiple, cloud services and on-premises infrastructure components. The candidate will have expert level troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze current technologies used within our organization and determine ways to improve performance and provide stability to backend services. A high-level of soft skills in collaborating with Information Technology professionals within the organization to ensure the proper infrastructure components are designed, delivered, managed, available, working as designed for projects or operations, and that best practices and organizational IT policies are being followed. The candidate should also be capable of applying various methodologies and frameworks when leading modernization or upgrade initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
The individual will work closely with Information Technology professionals to ensure technical components are available for projects and working properly. They will work closely with the supervisor and project teams to successfully monitor the progress of initiatives, provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions, and define clear goals for all aspects of a project and manage their proper execution. They will be well versed in projecting for possible challenges on constraints including risks, time, resources, and scope changes to the project. Tasks
- Provide leadership and subject matter expertise in the administration, maintenance and support of numerous backend systems that support the agency s application development, design, security, integration and desktop infrastructure.
- Directing and managing the workload of team members and managing the on-call support functions for the operations team.
- Must be able to gather information from team members constructively, fostering collaboration and trust rather than conflict. This role requires both guiding the team and contributing directly to technical problem-solving.
- Must consistently demonstrate initiative, accountability, and the ability to communicate progress without requiring repeated follow-up and maintain hands-on technical involvement to ensure timely and successful outcomes.
- Technical lead for our backend infrastructure services. These services or systems include areas within the Microsoft Services arena including but not limited to Active Directory (AD) services including ADFS, Group Policy, Distributed File Services, Azure subscriptions, DHCP, and networking protocols and services.
- Responsible for third (3rd) level technical support functions for the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), monitoring tools, multi-factor authentication, storage and backup, Power Shell scripting, and numerous customized off the shelf applications that have been implemented at DCF. A high-level understanding of networking protocols and network connectivity will be required.
- Must demonstrate both technical depth and the ability to lead modernization initiatives, ensuring the agency s infrastructure evolves strategically by partnering with external agency DOA and other third-party vendors, while wearing multiple hats across team management, project management, and hands on technical execution.
NOTE: Candidates must be WI residents or willing to relocate to WI within 30 days of the start date at their own expense. (90% remote and 10% onsite). Primarily remote, but candidate must be available to come onsite if needed. On call hours may be required. Weekend coverage required for maintenance and support.

Skills Required:
- 7+ years - Experience analyzing new and current technologies used within an organization with the ability to document and recommend solutions to improve performance, stability, and cost savings to the agency
- Experience leading a project team as a technical expert in system implementation
- 10+ years -Expert level system administration skills for Microsoft Windows servers administration including all current supported OS versions.
- 5+ years - High-level knowledge of Omnissa Horizon and vSphere
- 10 years - Active Directory Group Policy implementation and troubleshooting.
- 7 years - Expert knowledge in supporting certificate services.
- 7 years - Expert experience in implementing technology best practices in an organization.
- 7 years - MS Visio - Proven competencies in documenting infrastructure components for complex systems.
- 7 years - Expert knowledge in configuring LDAP
- 7 years - Expert knowledge of multi-factor authentication services.
- 3 years - MS Office 365 support Teams, email, other
- 3 years - System administrator for MS Azure subscriptions and services
