Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining existing computer infrastructure of 8000 PCs globally.
• Image and onboard new computers into the domain and onto the network.
• Secure and protect new and existing hardware.
• Consult with the business as they require assistance with their equipment.
• Troubleshoot and implement data flows for scientific instruments.
• Implement the validated data backup solution on laboratory analytical equipment (equipment and software investigation, documentation, technical configuration) within R&D (GxP and non-GxP).
• Support scientists in incident management, user support and coaching, and access management.
• Testing and validation of computer software (complete tests in different environments, writing technical documentation).

Technical / Functional Skills

• Outstanding computer troubleshooting skills for obscure issues ranging from device connectivity, network issues, and laboratory software issues.
• Background with End-User Computing or Desktop Support skills essential.
• Break/Fix consists of 80% of a Lab Engineer’s workload.
• Knowledge of Static/Dynamic IPs, Subnetting, IT/OT Networks, and basic understanding of firewalls.
• Candidate should be familiar with the OSI model and how to troubleshoot different network layers.
• Knowledge and understanding of Active Directory required.
• AGILE ways of working necessary.
• Background with computer security.
• Previous experience with validated systems (GxP) a plus.
• Familiar with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.
• D2D and/or project support.
• Microsoft Excel skills a plus.

Education: At least a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software/Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, or closely related field is required.
