Role Overview
The Python Developer will be responsible for designing, building, documenting, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and data integration platforms that support enterprise configuration management, service management, and automation use cases. This role requires expertise in Python, distributed architectures, API frameworks, and automation-driven backend systems. The developer will work with business stakeholders, CMDB owners, ServiceNow developers, automation teams, UI engineers, and DevOps groups to ensure end-to-end solution delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and support enterprise-scale REST/SOAP web services.
- Architect and develop backend APIs/services using Flask, Gunicorn, and production-grade Python frameworks.
- Build ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, and data orchestration tools.
- Integrate with ServiceNow APIs for data exports, imports, and automated data feeds.
- Manage Python environments, dependencies, and PYPI package maintenance.
- Utilize version control (Git/SVN) and CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, Ansible) for development workflows.
- Perform data preparation using Python data structures and Pandas.
- Use bash scripting for automation and system orchestration.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional Python development with object-oriented design skills.
- 8+ years architecting and developing backend APIs/services using frameworks like Flask and Gunicorn.
- 8-10+ years of hands-on work in Linux environments.
- 8+ years of experience with version control (Git/SVN) and CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, Ansible).
- 8+ years working with relational databases and strong SQL fundamentals.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with Python environment management, virtual environments, and dependency handling.
- Proven experience building ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Experience integrating with ServiceNow APIs and automated data feeds.
- Understanding of CMDB concepts including CIs, relationships, classes, and lifecycle management.
- Proficiency in bash scripting for automation.
- Advanced experience with data preparation, Python data structures, and Pandas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Clear and concise communication skills tailored to various stakeholders.
- Experience in scheduling, delivery management, and understanding project dependencies.
- Ability to identify reliability and security risks and propose mitigations.
- Proficiency in diagnosing complex issues across pipelines, infrastructure, and runtime systems.
- Experience breaking work into actionable deliverables and driving completion across teams.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira.
- Track record of supporting multiple concurrent projects through the SDLC.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is $65.06 per hour. Please note that this is a contract role and benefits are not provided.
