We are looking for Junior Lab Tech for our client in Gretna, LA
Job Title: Junior Lab Tech
Job Location: Gretna, LA
Job Type: Contract
Job Description:
  • Operate and maintain screening instruments used for donor specimen testing.
  • Perform initial review of test results for donor specimens and quality control samples.
  • Conduct testing using refractometers and pH meters.
  • Apply screening and specimen validity test methods including EIA, CEDIA, and ELISA.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to screening instruments and laboratory equipment.
  • Follow all security procedures to ensure confidentiality of donor information.
  • Adhere to all established company guidelines and operational procedures.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform laboratory screening tests and analyze specimen results.
  • Maintain and monitor laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Identify and troubleshoot technical issues with screening instruments.
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with laboratory standards.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of donor information.
  • Follow laboratory safety, quality, and operational procedures.
Skills:
  • Knowledge of screening and specimen validity testing methods.
  • Experience working with refractometers and pH meters.
  • Understanding of laboratory analytical techniques and procedures.
  • Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and testing equipment.
  • Knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems and laboratory computer systems.
Should Have:
  • Understanding of certification requirements for SAMHSA, CAP-FDT, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Ability to understand and follow laboratory testing protocols and guidelines.
Qualification And Education:
  • Bachelor s degree in Science or a related field.
Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to perform full body movement required for laboratory work.
  • Vision and hearing corrected to meet acceptable standards.
  • Strong mathematical and reasoning skills to develop and communicate laboratory procedures and reports.
  • Ability to handle production pressure and stressful situations.
  • Ability to read and understand SOPs and federal laboratory guidelines.
  • Strong communication skills with supervisors and team members.
  • Ability to provide input and recommendations on laboratory operations.
  • Ability to work in an environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials.
