Role Overview
We are seeking a Principal Engineer for Wireless/WiFi Operations. This role is a senior technical leadership position focused on strengthening hands-on technical execution. The ideal candidate will deploy solutions, mentor junior engineers, and serve as a technical approver, improving deployment quality and contributing to the long-term goal of fully virtualized controller environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical expert for junior engineers on Wi-Fi engineering (Wi-Fi 4-7).
- Apply knowledge across all OSI layers, including hands-on routing and switching.
- Investigate issues, document findings, and implement improvements for deployments.
- Work within large, complex environments such as carrier Wi-Fi or large enterprise deployments.
- Support scale through familiarity with automation strategies like Python and Ansible.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative, approachable team environment.
- Proactively identify and address technical challenges to ensure process integrity.
- Lead technical execution while working within established processes.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience in Wi-Fi engineering (Wi-Fi 4-7).
- Solid knowledge across all OSI layers with hands-on routing and switching experience.
- Experience in large, complex environments (carrier Wi-Fi, large enterprise, or multi-site deployments).
- Demonstrated ability to investigate issues, document findings, and improve deployments.
- Understanding of virtualized environments, particularly VM-based controllers and applications.
- Familiarity with automation strategies (Python, Ansible) to support scalability.
- Proven ability to mentor junior engineers in a technical leadership capacity.
- An execution-focused and proactive approach to technical leadership.
