Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is seeking a Subject Matter Expert / Program Manager to support/drive Technology/Software End-of-Life and Vulnerability Management initiatives for a long-term contract assignment with one of our premier financial services clients in Dallas, TX. Hybrid, 2-3 days per week in the office. Must be flexible.
The ideal candidate will lead the delivery and optimization of EOL software management and vulnerability mitigation processes, ensuring robust risk controls and compliance across the enterprise.
Responsibilities :
- Responsible for taking ownership of the delivery of plans for two in-scope end-of-life technology asset (EOLTA) streams, working closely with IT owners and/or their delegates to remediate vulnerabilities and reduce risk exposure.
- Act in an oversight / advisory capacity but dive into details when necessary.
- Provide oversight on EOL workstreams/projects for software running on both desktop and servers
- Drive project management initiatives related to software EOL and vulnerability remediation, ensuring timely delivery of key milestones.
- Follow Agile methodology and related ceremonies
- Own, Track, and report status and other key metrics (e.g., KRIs) to senior-level IT Executives
- Establish IT governance frameworks to ensure alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Also, provide some guidance on vulnerability management tools, techniques, and methodologies
- Monitor project progress, address risks, and communicate updates to stakeholders to ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Escalate when necessary
- Support audits and regulatory requirements related to software compliance.
- Potentially help with developing a software lifecycle management plan that includes upgrading, replacing, or migrating software well before it reaches EOL. The key part of the role, however, is to ensure the EOL projects are successful.
Required Skills:
- SME in software lifecycle management and End of Life (EOL) initiatives.
- Proven experience in vulnerability management.
- Ability to take ownership of the program delivery for each in-scope EOLTA (e.g., software running on servers and desktops)
- Strong knowledge of IT governance principles and best practices
- Demonstrated project management skills, with a track record of delivering complex IT initiatives on time and within scope.
- Experience in IT Change & Transformation and/or Technology Support.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and high attention to detail.
- Experience working with IT leads, Managers and/or their delegates to affect change.
- Experience working in medium to large investment banks/capital market-related firms or equivalent.
- Experience with Agile Methodology and running related ceremonies
- Strong due diligence skills and attention to detail (e.g., comprehensive plan for each technology that falls under the end-of-life umbrella)
- Multi-tasking as well as the ability to deal effectively at all levels including with senior/executive committee levels.
- Articulate and effective communicator, both orally and in writing, with an energetic, charismatic, and approachable style.
- Ability to influence, guide and escalate with senior stakeholders.
- Strong drive/determination, prioritization skills, and time management
- Working knowledge of MS Office products
