Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Engineer, DevOps. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with project leadership, ensuring the stability, scalability, and automation of our CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and deployment processes. This position will drive best practices, mentor team members, and collaborate closely with development and operations leaders to optimize our global SaaS platform. Off hours support as needed.

Success Metrics:

  • Maintain deployment pipeline uptime of 99%+ with minimal manual intervention.
  • Accelerate deployment lead times and reduce errors through automation.
  • Deliver infrastructure-as-code solutions across services and regions.
  • Build, develop, and retain a high-performing, distributed DevOps team.

Responsibilities

Leadership:

  • Mentor and develop a distributed team of 4-7 DevOps Engineers.
  • Coordinate work across Ireland, India, and North America time zones.
  • Drive alignment on priorities, sprint goals, and technical standards.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture.

CI/CD Pipeline Management:

  • Oversee design, maintenance, and improvement of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ensure consistent deployment practices across multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Implement quality gates and automated testing within release pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve critical build and release issues.

Infrastructure Automation:

  • Champion infrastructure-as-code practices (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM).
  • Standardize cloud provisioning, configuration, and resource management.
  • Lead adoption of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Modernize deployment workflows, phasing out legacy methods.

Development Support:

  • Provide tooling and automation to improve developer productivity
  • Propose Optimizations for development and staging environments
  • Support containerization of applications and services
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on deployment requirements and optimization

Monitoring & Operations:

  • Define monitoring and alerting standards for developer infrastructure and pipelines.
  • Ensure effective capacity planning and cost optimization.
  • Participate in high-priority incident response and post-mortems.
  • Maintain clear documentation and operational runbooks.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform, or Software Engineering.
  • 6+ years of experience leading technical projects and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Expertise with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, etc.).
  • Strong background in AWS (Azure and Google Cloud Platform exposure a plus).
  • Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication skills for working across global teams.

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

Preferred

  • Experience with Java and Spring Boot deployments.
  • Familiarity with database automation, monitoring, and secrets management.
  • Cloud or Kubernetes certifications (AWS, Azure, CKA/CKAD).

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $120,000-$160,000 annually. Final compensation will be based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, internal equity, and market data. This range aligns with our commitment to equitable and transparent compensation practices, as required by applicable law.
