In this hybrid role based in Montreal, you will act as the core financial pillar for the IT program, managing everything from complex general ledgers and procurement to presenting critical financial data directly to the Board of Directors. responsibilities:
Act as the dedicated financial engine for the technology division, proactively managing cash flow, working capital, and robust internal controls.
Prepare, analyze, and confidently present comprehensive financial statements-including balance sheets, income, and cash flow reports-directly to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
Oversee the complete accounting lifecycle, managing the general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and leading month-end/year-end closing activities.
Review and process technical vendor invoices, ensuring the meticulous and accurate booking of QST and GST.
Drive technology procurement initiatives, tracking spending against budgets, supporting vendor selection, and managing contract reviews and audit trails.
Ensure absolute compliance with complex Canadian and US financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting standards across a multi-currency environment.
Coordinate seamlessly with external auditors, identify emerging financial risks, and recommend actionable mitigation strategies to the Program Director.
qualifications:
5 or more years of progressive accounting, finance, and procurement experience, preferably within a critical operational or highly regulated technology environment.
Professional fluency in both English and French (written and spoken) to effectively communicate with local teams and global stakeholders.
Proven track record and high comfort level presenting complex financial data to Boards of Directors and C-suite executives.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, specifically utilizing Macros, VBA, and Pivot Tables to generate dynamic financial reports.
Strong hands-on experience with enterprise accounting and financial software (such as QuickBooks, Sage, or SAP).
Ability to work a hybrid schedule, requiring 2 to 3 days per week onsite in the Montreal office.
Valid documentation and the ability to travel to the United States for mandatory, regulatory background checks upon hire (travel expenses fully covered).
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a directly related field.
