Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced
IT Project Manager to lead a large-scale relocation of end-user technology within an active hospital environment. This role involves managing the movement of thousands of IT assets-including PCs, phones, and mounted displays-between facilities within a compressed 6-7 month timeline.
The ideal candidate will ensure the project is executed with
speed, precision, and minimal disruption to hospital operations. This is a highly visible, hands-on role requiring strong on-site leadership and operational control.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership & Execution- Lead the planning and execution of a high-volume IT equipment relocation project.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and milestones.
- Ensure delivery within established timelines while maintaining operational continuity in a live healthcare environment.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications.
On-Site Coordination- Provide day-to-day, on-site oversight of project activities.
- Track progress, manage risks, and resolve issues in real time.
- Coordinate logistics for moving and deploying thousands of end-user devices.
Team Oversight- Oversee and coordinate a team of 30-45 technicians during deployment phases.
- Serve as the escalation point for operational challenges and technical concerns.
- Ensure accountability and alignment across all contributors without direct people management authority.
Stakeholder Management- Interface directly with customer stakeholders to provide status updates and ensure alignment.
- Maintain clear communication across internal and external teams.
- Support reporting, documentation, and executive-level updates as needed.
Required Qualifications- 5+ years of experience in IT project management, preferably in large-scale deployment or migration initiatives.
- Proven experience managing complex, fast-paced projects with tight timelines.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Experience leading field teams or coordinating large technician groups.
- PMP certification strongly preferred.
Preferred Experience- Background in IT equipment deployment, relocation, or migration projects.
- Experience working in healthcare or other high-availability environments.
- Data center migration experience (servers/storage) is a plus, though not required.
- Familiarity with asset tracking, inventory management, and deployment logistics.
Additional Details- This position requires consistent on-site presence during planning and deployment phases.
- The role replaces a higher-cost remote PM model and will assume primary responsibility for execution.
- Engagement operates under a fixed-fee structure, making efficiency and cost control essential.
