Senior Software Engineer - Distributed Systems & Cloud Platforms

Overview
  • We are seeking a driven and purpose-oriented Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about technology, innovation, and engineering excellence. In this role, you will help modernize core applications to improve scalability, reliability, and cloud adoption across enterprise platforms.
  • You will contribute to building next-generation, ultra-low latency, high-throughput systems that process large volumes of data in real time. These applications play a critical role in analyzing account activity and evaluating financial risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and support mission-critical distributed systems and platforms
  • Lead technical discussions and drive solutions that align with business and architectural goals
  • Mentor engineers and promote best practices in cloud, AI, and modern development
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business, operations, and production support
  • Identify technical risks early and implement mitigation strategies
  • Continuously improve development processes, system performance, and time-to-market
  • Contribute to the evolution of scalable, high-performance systems handling large data volumes

Required Qualifications
  • 6+ years of software development experience on large-scale enterprise platforms
  • 4-6+ years of experience in financial services, with exposure to concepts such as margins, derivatives, lending, or risk management
  • 5+ years of experience delivering complex, multi-dependency projects using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Technical Skills
  • Strong experience building distributed systems and cloud-native applications
  • Proficiency in C# and .NET across Linux and Windows environments
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) and/or Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF)
  • Experience with databases such as Aerospike, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL
  • Familiarity with BPM/integration platforms (e.g., Appian)
  • Expertise with messaging systems such as Kafka and IBM MQ
  • Experience working with AI-driven development tools and modern AI-enabled workflows
  • Solid understanding of Agile development practices
  • Experience managing and supporting mission-critical services in production environments
  • Proficiency in using observability, telemetry, and metrics to improve system performance
