About the Role:

We are seeking a Software Deployment Engineer to lead deployment coordination, release readiness, and change management activities across multiple sites and technical teams. This role will be responsible for planning and executing software deployments, managing change requests (CRs), maintaining deployment schedules, and ensuring all stakeholders are aligned throughout the release lifecycle.

The ideal candidate brings experience coordinating software releases in a technical environment, strong Jira and change management skills, and working knowledge of Azure DevOps. Success in this role requires exceptional organization, clear communication, and the ability to drive accountability across multiple workstreams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own Jira hygiene for deployments, including tickets, statuses, owners, due dates, blockers, and follow-up actions.
  • Plan and coordinate Change Requests (CRs) end-to-end, including scope, dependencies, deployment windows, rollback strategies, approvals, and environment readiness.
  • Maintain deployment schedules and ensure deployment calendars remain current across sites and teams.
  • Lead and participate in deployment rehearsals, documenting risks, gaps, action items, and ownership.
  • Drive deployment readiness reviews by confirming scope, responsibilities, escalation paths, and contingency plans.
  • Track action items from rehearsal through deployment execution and close-out.
  • Coordinate with DevOps and Engineering teams on Azure-related activities, including pipelines, environments, and release processes.
  • Communicate deployment status, risks, blockers, and schedule changes to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment between Engineering, Operations, DevOps, and Site teams.
  • Maintain accurate reporting and visibility into deployment readiness and execution metrics.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience coordinating software deployments, releases, change management, or technical project delivery.
  • Strong Jira experience, including workflows, dashboards, boards, filters, and reporting.
  • Experience planning and scheduling Change Requests (CRs), maintenance windows, and deployment dependencies.
  • Experience leading deployment rehearsals and readiness reviews.
  • Working knowledge of Azure DevOps, including repositories, pipelines, environments, and release management processes.
  • Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent deployments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting warehouse automation, robotics, or large-scale site deployments.
  • Familiarity with ITIL and formal change-control processes.
  • Experience with Ansible, AWX, or similar automation/orchestration tools.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams and deployment schedules.
  • Exposure to cloud infrastructure and enterprise software delivery practices.
