Junior Lab Tech

• Responsible for operating and maintaining laboratory screening instruments, reviewing donor specimen test results, and performing quality control testing in a regulated laboratory environment.
• The role involves supporting specimen validity testing, ensuring compliance with laboratory procedures and regulatory guidelines, and maintaining accurate documentation while adhering to safety and confidentiality standards.

Requirement/Must Have:

• Strong understanding of laboratory testing and analytical techniques.
• Knowledge of screening and specimen validity test methods such as EIA, CEDIA, ELISA.
• Ability to operate laboratory instruments including refractometers and pH meters.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for laboratory equipment.
• Ability to follow SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to follow confidentiality and security procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Ability to work in a regulated and production-driven environment.

Experience:

• Bachelor s degree in Chemistry or Biology required.
• Understanding of laboratory instrumentation and analytical techniques preferred.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) preferred.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards such as SAMHSA, CAP-FDT, or similar preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain screening instruments for donor specimen testing.
• Perform initial review of test results for donor specimens and QC samples.
• Conduct testing using refractometers and pH meters.
• Troubleshoot issues with screening instruments and laboratory equipment.
• Ensure adherence to security procedures and confidentiality of donor information.
• Follow established laboratory guidelines, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
• Support specimen validity testing using approved laboratory methods.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable laboratory standards and procedures.

Should Have:

• Advanced understanding of analytical laboratory techniques.
• Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and LIS systems.
• Knowledge of regulatory certification requirements (SAMHSA, CAP-FDT, etc.).
• Ability to interpret laboratory procedures and documentation.
