Oversee the support and continued development of the company's existing software products.
Direct external consulting partners responsible for platform modernization and database migration.
Lead the transition from a legacy, on-premises environment toward a modern web-based technology platform.
Establish engineering standards and processes that improve quality, predictability, efficiency, and accountability.
Address technical debt while balancing modernization priorities with ongoing customer and product needs.
Partner closely with Product leadership to translate business requirements and product roadmaps into successful engineering execution.
Evaluate how technology decisions affect operating costs, business performance, customer experience, and long-term scalability.
Build strong working relationships across executive leadership, Product, Engineering, and external partners.
Create an environment in which engineers are supported, challenged, and accountable for results.
Technology Environment
Technically credible and capable of engaging engineers in meaningful technical discussions.
Strategic enough to operate as an executive while remaining close to engineering execution.
Highly accountable, dependable, and committed to following through.
Collaborative and willing to support colleagues across the organization.
Comfortable leading through significant organizational and technological change.
Focused on building sustainable processes rather than relying on short-term fixes.
Invested in the company's long-term success and the development of its people.

Skills & Requirements

Proven leadership experience as a VP of Engineering, VP of Software Engineering, SVP of Engineering, or comparable senior engineering executive.
A strong foundation in software engineering, ideally developed through progressively responsible technical and leadership roles.
Experience leading large-scale application modernization, platform transformation, or legacy-to-modern technology initiatives.
Demonstrated success managing legacy software environments, technical debt, and complex codebases.
Experience leading internal engineering teams and external consulting or development partners.
