Summary

Senior Windows Engineer SME

Introduction: The Senior Windows Engineer SME will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing enterprise Windows Server environments. They will play a key role in architecting and maintaining Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and implementing high availability solutions. Additionally, the Senior Windows Engineer SME will be involved in server lifecycle management, L3 escalation, advanced troubleshooting, and virtualization & cloud administration.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and manage enterprise Windows Server environments (2008/2012/2016/2019/2022)
  • Architect and maintain Active Directory (AD DS), Group Policy (GPO), and DNS
  • Implement high availability solutions such as Failover Clustering, DFS, Load Balancing
  • Manage server lifecycle including upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning
  • Provide L3 escalation support and advanced troubleshooting
  • Administer Hyper-V and VMware environments
  • Manage Windows workloads in Azure/AWS
  • Develop automation using PowerShell for patch management and configuration tasks
  • Mentor L1-L3 administrators and participate in infrastructure design discussions

Requirements:

Required Skills:

  • 13-15+ years of IT Infrastructure experience with strong specialization in Windows Server administration
  • Proven experience supporting large-scale enterprise environments
  • Advanced expertise in Windows OS troubleshooting
  • Extensive experience in Active Directory, Kerberos, DNS, and Windows performance troubleshooting
  • Strong hands-on experience in Windows Registry troubleshooting
  • Proven expertise in Windows server migrations and transformation initiatives
  • Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Failover Clustering
  • Experience working with tools such as Active Directory, SCCM, Hyper-V, WSUS, and monitoring solutions

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong PowerShell automation expertise
  • Experience with hybrid cloud infrastructure
  • Knowledge of Azure infrastructure services
  • Exposure to infrastructure automation and DevOps practices

Education: Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
