Overview
We are seeking a
Senior Full Stack Engineer to join a modern MarTech Engineering organization responsible for building and operating
high-scale, real-time, cloud-native platforms that support digital marketing, personalization, and data-driven customer experiences.
This role is hands-on and impact-driven, focused on
distributed systems, streaming data platforms, backend services, and cloud infrastructure, with growing emphasis on
AI-assisted development and system-level thinking. As a senior engineer, you will own core components, influence design decisions, and help set engineering best practices while remaining deeply involved in delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Data & Streaming Platform Engineering
- Design, implement, and maintain production-grade data processing pipelines for real-time and batch workloads using Apache Spark and Spark Streaming
- Build and evolve Scala-based distributed data processing jobs supporting large-scale event ingestion and transformation
- Develop streaming applications using the Kafka ecosystem, including:
- Kafka Streams
- Event-driven architectures
- Schema governance with Avro schemas
- Ensure pipeline reliability, scalability, and performance through proactive tuning and monitoring
Backend & Full Stack Development
- Build and maintain backend services and APIs using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot
- Contribute to end-to-end solutions that span data platforms, backend services, caching layers, and cloud infrastructure
- Implement caching strategies using Redis, and leverage Redis Insight for monitoring and optimization
- Review code, mentor peers, and uphold high standards for maintainability and performance
Cloud, Platform & Infrastructure
- Design and deploy cloud-native systems on Google Cloud Platform and Azure
- Build and operate containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes
- Own CI/CD pipelines and delivery workflows using tools such as:
- Git, Maven, Gradle
- Opsera and ArgoCD
- Orchestrate complex workflows and data jobs using Azure Data Factory (ADF)
Observability, Reliability & Operations
- Instrument and monitor systems using Dynatrace or similar observability tools
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for production issues, including root-cause analysis and long-term fixes
- Design systems with high availability, fault tolerance, and operational resilience in mind
- Partner with platform and operations teams to continuously improve reliability and deployability
AI-Assisted Engineering & Architecture Thinking
- Apply AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude or similar) to accelerate development, testing, and design workflows
- Demonstrate strong prompting, evaluation, and control practices when using generative AI in engineering contexts
- Contribute to architecture-level discussions, particularly where AI integration, automation, or intelligent workflows are involved
- Help establish best practices for responsible and effective AI usage within engineering teams
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer working on backend, full stack, or data-intensive systems
- Strong hands-on experience with Scala and/or Java in production environments
- Proven expertise with:
- Apache Spark / Spark Streaming
- Kafka ecosystem (Kafka Streams, Avro schemas, event-driven design)
- Solid working knowledge of SQL and data modeling concepts
- Experience building systems on Google Cloud Platform and/or Azure
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience owning CI/CD pipelines and build systems using Git, Maven, and Gradle
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability tradeoffs, and system design fundamentals
Nice to Have
- Experience with Databricks for large-scale data workloads and engineering notebooks
- Experience with Azure Data Factory or similar orchestration tools
- Background in MarTech, ecommerce, or consumer-scale digital platforms
- Experience integrating or operationalizing AI-assisted developer tooling
- Comfort operating in environments with real-time data, high traffic, and enterprise reliability requirements
Senior-Level Expectations
- Own moderately complex systems or subsystems end to end, from design through production support
- Contribute meaningfully to architectural decisions while remaining hands-on in implementation
- Raise the quality bar through thoughtful code reviews, mentoring, and best practices
- Balance speed and quality, using automation and AI tools responsibly to improve productivity
- Communicate clearly with engineers, product partners, and platform teams
