Position SummaryWe are searching for System Engineer will be responsible for leading the design, development, integration, and validation of complex systems that support mission-critical applications in the defense and commercial sectors. You will use and contribute to models of real-world weapons, radars, Command & Control systems. You will independently identify and address system and software defects, demonstrate an ability to practice sound systems and software engineering discipline, and decompose complex problems to formulate solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe candidate will be responsible for executing all aspects of the System Engineering process from Requirements development through Integration and test. Potential use mathematical models and simulation products to perform mission analysis, ConOps development, gap analysis, sensitivity and trade studies, system requirements validation, and performance prediction of Combat System mission areas.
Knowledge in Ship Design and development in the following areas:
- Develop and maintain Technical Data Packages for ship combat systems, including:
- System drawings
- Interface control documents
- Engineering change documentation
- Equipment specifications
- Bills of materials (BOMs)
- Installation drawings
- Maintenance procedures
- Manage configuration control and ensure technical documentation aligns with:
- Ship configuration baselines
- Combat system upgrades
- Fleet modernization efforts
- Review engineering change proposals (ECPs) and incorporate approved changes into technical data packages.
- Coordinate with:
- Systems engineers
- Naval architects
- Combat systems engineers
- Logistics teams
- Program managers
- Government customers
- Ensure compliance with:
- Department of Defense (DoD) standards
- Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) requirements
- Military specifications (MIL-STDs)
- Configuration management processes
- Support ship availability periods, modernization programs, and system installations by providing accurate technical documentation.
- Perform technical data audits and verify documentation accuracy.
- Use Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and configuration management tools to track engineering changes.
Preferred Domain Experience: Demonstrated knowledge of Static and Dynamic Systems
Demonstrated knowledge of Statistics, Monte Carlo
Analysis, and distributed simulation techniques
Demonstrated knowledge of Data Science Principles
Demonstrated knowledge of Agile Development Process
Knowledge of Python/Matlab Scripting
Demsontrated knowledge in System Engineering principles
Education & Experience: BS Degree in Mathematics, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent STEM field with 4-5 years experience
Demonstrated Ability in root cause analysis, problem solving skills, and statistical analysis
Demonstrated Ability in scripting languages such as Python
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the SECRET level. ship required
Compensation Statement (New Jersey Pay Transparency Notice)
The anticipated annual salary range for this position is
$102,000 to $146,000. This range represents a good-faith estimate of the base salary that Thunderbolt Solutions reasonably expects to pay for this role at the time of posting.
Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, relevant experience, education, certifications, specific technical skills, internal equity, and current market conditions.
This position may also be eligible for a
