About the RoleTEKsystems is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Low Voltage Cable Technician to install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems for commercial and industrial projects. This role is hands-on and focuses on delivering high-quality cable installation for data, voice, security, and communication systems.
Key Responsibilities- Install, route, and secure low-voltage cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, fiber, coax, etc.)
- Perform cable terminations, testing, certification, and troubleshooting
- Install network racks, patch panels, cable trays, J-hooks, and wall plates
- Pull cable through ceilings, conduit, risers, and other pathways
- Ensure clean cable management, labeling, and documentation
- Assist with installation of related low-voltage systems, including:
- CCTV cameras
- Access control devices
- Fire alarms
- A/V systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and test equipment
- Communicate with project managers, site supervisors, and customers
- Follow company, OSHA, and job-site safety guidelines
QualificationsRequired:- 6+ months of experience in low-voltage or structured cabling installation
- Proficiency in Cat5e/Cat6 terminations and testing
- Ability to work on ladders, lifts, attics, and crawlspaces
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- High school diploma or GED
Preferred:- Experience in commercial construction environments
- Knowledge of fiber optic cable installation and termination
- Familiarity with CCTV, access control, or AV systems
- OSHA 10 certification
- Other technical certifications

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
