Job Summary

We are seeking a Systems Engineer IV to support the development of next-generation rotary-wing training and simulation capabilities. This role focuses on aircraft survivability systems, threat modeling, aircraft system behavior, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to create technically accurate and operationally relevant training environments for military helicopter platforms.

The successful candidate will apply systems engineering principles to define system requirements, architectures, interfaces, behaviors, and traceability while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, pilots, instructors, and subject matter experts. This position requires a strong understanding of aircraft systems, simulation environments, and mission-focused training applications.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage system requirements, architecture, interfaces, and traceability using MBSE methodologies.

Create and maintain SysML models in Cameo to support requirements decomposition, use-case analysis, system architecture development, and interface definition.

Model aircraft survivability equipment behavior, including:

Countermeasure systems (chaff and flares)

Missile and radar warning receivers

Threat indications and cueing

Defensive response logic

Countermeasure deployment strategies

Analyze and model aircraft system functionality, malfunctions, fault conditions, degraded operations, and failure propagation.

Support development of realistic threat and mission scenarios for rotary-wing training systems.

Collaborate with software, systems, test, and domain experts to ensure technical accuracy and operational realism.

Define system interactions and behaviors to support simulation implementation, integration, verification, and validation activities.

Utilize engineering analysis and documentation tools to support research, design, and system development efforts.

Ensure simulation capabilities align with operational, technical, and training objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

7+ years of experience in systems engineering, aerospace systems, simulation, or related technical environments.

Experience with requirements development, management, and traceability.

Hands-on experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies.

Proficiency with Cameo Systems Modeler and SysML.

Experience developing system architectures, interfaces, behavioral models, and technical documentation.

Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle processes.

Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with aircraft survivability equipment (ASE) or defensive systems.

Knowledge of threat modeling, threat scenarios, and mission-focused simulation environments.

Experience with rotary-wing aircraft systems and operations.

Familiarity with helicopter training devices, simulators, or synthetic training environments.

Experience modeling aircraft failures, fault injection, degraded modes, cautions, and warnings.

Understanding of mission systems, tactical operations, or military aviation training concepts.

Background working with software development and test engineering teams.

Experience supporting simulation, verification, validation, or training system development programs.

Demonstrated ability to quickly learn complex technical domains and collaborate with subject matter experts.
