Join a multidisciplinary commissioning team as a Senior Instrument & Controls Technician focused on the execution of crucial infrastructure projects. This role centers on ensuring that all instrumented systems at our gas plant and oil stabilization facilities are fully verified, loop-checked, and safely handed over according to strict engineering standards. You will focus entirely on everything electrically connected to control system I/O, working seamlessly between field devices and control consoles.

responsibilities:
- Execute systematic loop checks for all analog (4-20 mA, HART), digital, thermocouple, RTD, and Ethernet instrumented loops.
- Simulate and inject process signals using calibration equipment to verify correct transmission, scaling, and indication across DCS, PLC, ESD, and SCADA systems.
- Verify alarm setpoints, trip setpoints, and interlock behaviors while collaborating with control system engineers using approved cause-and-effect matrices.
- Test and confirm field device operations of final control elements including control valves, shutdown valves, and open/close feedback signal chains.
qualifications:
5+ years of experience in instrumentation testing and electrical commissioning within the oil and gas industry.
Proven experience executing loop checks, signal simulations, and device calibrations at gas plant or oil stabilization facilities.
Must be local to the Orla, TX area.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency with industrial control systems (DCS/PLC/ESD/SCADA) and engineering unit scaling.
Demonstrated ability to interpret cause-and-effect (C&E) matrices and safety requirement specifications (SRS).
Strong alignment with site HSE requirements and collaborative team communication skills.
