Senior Security Engineer - investment environment

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's is partnering with a highly respected global investment organization in Boston, MA that is seeking a hands-on Senior Security Engineer to join a small, high-impact engineering team focused on building and deploying enterprise security solutions across cloud, identity, data, and infrastructure environments.

Summary:
This is not a traditional SOC, compliance, or operations-focused role. The team already has strong operational coverage and is looking for engineers who can design, implement, automate, and improve security capabilities across a modern enterprise environment. The ideal candidate brings a strong engineering mindset, is comfortable moving across multiple security domains, and enjoys solving complex infrastructure and cloud security challenges in a fast-paced environment. What You'll Work On:
* Design and deploy security solutions across cloud, identity, endpoint, email, and network environments
* Engineer and automate security controls across AWS and Azure ecosystems
* Build scalable security capabilities using Terraform, Python, APIs, and infrastructure-as-code principles
* Partner with infrastructure, platform, and engineering teams to improve enterprise security posture
* Drive initiatives around Zero Trust, cloud-native security, segmentation, secure access, and modern authentication
* Support evaluation and implementation of emerging technologies related to AI, data security, and enterprise security architecture
* Support technical investigations and security improvement initiatives where needed
* Evaluate existing environments, identify security gaps, and implement practical solutions at scale

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of hands-on security engineering experience
* Strong experience securing cloud environments (AWS preferred, Azure experience also valuable)
* Experience implementing and engineering security solutions using enterprise/commercial security technologies in production environments

Experience implementing or engineering solutions across areas such as:
* Identity & access management
* Cloud security
* Network/perimeter security
* Endpoint or data security
* Email security
* Ability to script and automate using tools such as Python, Terraform, or similar
* Comfortable working across infrastructure, cloud, and platform security domains
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a builder mentality
* Financial services experience is helpful but not required

Nice to Have:
* Experience with modern identity and access controls such as Conditional Access, MFA, SSO, Entra ID, Okta, or Zero Trust architectures
* Exposure to AI/ML-driven security initiatives or automation
* Experience working in highly regulated or large-scale enterprise environments

Additional Notes:
* This is an onsite role based in Boston
* Small, highly technical team with strong visibility and ownership
* Looking for -doers- who enjoy building and improving systems, not purely advisory profiles

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
