Role: AEM Architect
Duration: Long Term
Location: Atlanta, GA
This role requires a hands-on Full-Stack Architect who actively contributes to designing, building, and maintaining production code, in addition to owning solutions and platform architecture. The position operates around the stack, spanning frontend, backend, integrations, and cloud infrastructure, with a primary focus on Shopify, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), AWS, and Azure.
Core Responsibilities
Hands-On Development (Primary Expectation)
- Actively design, develop, and maintain full-stack solutions in production environments
- Write, review, and optimize frontend and backend code
- Build complex features, integrations, and proof-of-concepts personally
- Support deployments, production issues, and performance tuning
Architecture & Technical Ownership
- Define and evolve architecture across frontend, backend, integrations, and cloud layers
- Make design decisions that balance scalability, security, performance, and developer productivity
- Validate architectural decisions through hands-on implementation
- Guide modernization of legacy platforms through direct contribution
Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
- Develop and maintain AEM components, templates, and content models
- Implement headless and hybrid AEM + Shopify architectures
- Work directly with AEM Content Fragments, GraphQL, Dispatcher, and authoring workflows
- Optimize content delivery and authoring performance
Backend, Integration & APIs
- Design and implement RESTful and event-driven APIs
- Build integration layers across Shopify, AEM, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems
- Implement authentication, authorization, and secure data exchange
- Debug and resolve complex cross-system integration issues
Domain, DNS & Traffic Management
- Manage domains and DNS configurations across BrandShelter, Cloudflare, and GoDaddy
- Configure and maintain DNS records (A, CNAME, ALIAS, TXT, MX)
- Implement SSL/TLS certificates, HTTPS enforcement, and security headers
- Manage traffic routing, redirects, and CDN configurations
- Support multi-brand, multi-domain commerce environments
- Troubleshoot domain propagation, SSL, and routing issues during launches and migrations
Technical Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead by example through direct coding and implementation
- Participate in code reviews, architectural reviews, and technical decision-making
- Mentor developers through hands-on guidance and problem-solving
- Collaborate with product, UX, QA, and DevOps teams
