Job Description

The client is looking for a Senior VMware Systems Engineer with strong hands-on experience in VMware vSphere 8, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF 9), and enterprise virtualization infrastructure.

The resource will manage a large-scale banking infrastructure environment consisting of approximately 400–500 servers, focusing on infrastructure monitoring, capacity management, hardware refresh, VMware platform administration, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support VMware vSphere 8, VCF 9, ESXi, and vCenter environments.

  • Perform real-time capacity monitoring, performance analysis, and infrastructure optimization.

  • Review and validate capacity-related RITMs before approving resource increases.

  • Drive replacement of aging/EOL servers, including deployment and production migration.

  • Support VMware infrastructure modernization, migration, and lifecycle management.

  • Work with Aria Operations, NSX-T, vSAN, VRLI, and VRNI.

  • Automate infrastructure operations using PowerCLI, PowerShell, Python, Ansible, or Terraform.

  • Provide Tier 2/3 production support and participate in incident, change, and release management.

  • Follow banking production change windows, security, regulatory, and governance requirements.

  • Collaborate with global IT teams and support the Follow-the-Sun (FTS) operating model.

Required Skills

  • 5–7+ years of hands-on VMware infrastructure experience.

  • Strong experience with VMware vSphere 8 and VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).

  • VCF 9 experience preferred.

  • Experience managing large-scale enterprise VMware environments (400–500 servers or comparable).

  • Strong experience in capacity monitoring, performance management, and server lifecycle management.

  • Hands-on experience with Aria Operations, NSX-T, and vSAN.

  • Experience with PowerCLI, PowerShell, Python, Ansible, or Terraform.

  • Previous Banking / Financial Services experience is highly important.

  • Understanding of production change management, security, compliance, and governance.

Preferred Skills

  • VMware VCP / VCAP certifications.

  • Experience with enterprise storage (Dell, EMC, NetApp, Pure Storage).

  • Knowledge of networking, TCP/IP, VLANs, and routing.

  • Experience with AI-driven monitoring and infrastructure automation.

  • ITIL certification.
