Summary

Job Title: D365 Integrations Developer/Architect
Work type: Remote
D365 F&O/CE D365 Commerce Shopify Azure Integration Services
What This Role Is About
We're building the integration backbone for a major Microsoft Dynamics 365 rollout - connecting D365 Finance & Operations, D365 Customer Engagement, D365 Commerce, Shopify, and InRiver PIM so data flows cleanly between all of them. You'll be the person who designs how these systems talk to each other, and you'll lead a small team of developers who build it out.
This isn't a "maintain what already exists" job - you're designing the integration patterns, error handling, and monitoring standards from scratch, built to hold up long after go-live.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
  • Design how systems connect. For every integration need, you'll choose the right approach - Data Management Framework, Dual-write, Virtual Entities, or Web APIs for D365; real-time sync between Shopify and D365 for orders, inventory, and customer data; and getting product data from InRiver PIM into both D365 and Shopify correctly.
  • Handle order and inventory flow across D365 Commerce's Distributed Order Management (DOM) - things like order routing, fulfillment, and keeping inventory accurate across channels.
  • Build it on Azure Integration Services - Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Service Bus, API Management, and Data Factory - and set the standards (retry logic, failure recovery, monitoring, reusable components) that the rest of the team will follow.
  • Lead the technical side of the team. Review code, mentor developers on D365 integration patterns and debugging, run design reviews, and be the person others escalate hard problems to.
  • Work cross-functionally with the Integration Architect, D365 functional leads, and the implementation partner to turn business needs into real technical designs - and own the integration timeline through testing, cutover, and early post-launch support.
  • Document everything - diagrams, specs, mapping docs, runbooks - so the work is understandable to others, not just in your head.
What You Need to Bring
Experience:
  • 7+ years building system integrations overall, with at least 3+ years specifically integrating with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (F&O and/or CE)
  • Experience leading or mentoring other developers
  • Comfortable working independently when requirements are still unclear or changing
  • Strong communicator - with developers, business stakeholders, and executives alike
Core technical skills (must-have):
  • Hands-on, real production experience with Azure Integration Services: Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Service Bus, API Management
  • Experience with D365 Commerce and order orchestration (DOM)
  • Has built Shopify integrations before (REST/GraphQL Admin API, webhooks)
  • Solid knowledge of D365 F&O's DMF and D365 CE's Dual-write, Virtual Entities, and Web APIs
  • Strong C#/.NET and/or JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Comfortable with REST and SOAP services, JSON/XML, and API authentication (OAuth 2.0, API keys, service principals)
  • Can design integration architecture thoughtfully - knowing when to go real-time vs. batch, how to handle errors and retries at scale
  • CI/CD experience, ideally with Azure DevOps
Nice-to-haves (not required, but a plus):
  • Experience integrating a PIM system (InRiver or similar) with ERP and ecommerce platforms
  • Has led an integration workstream on a large D365 implementation (not just ongoing support work)
  • Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, or Dataverse
  • Knowledge of EDI standards
  • Background in retail, distribution, CPG, or manufacturing
  • Microsoft certifications: PL-400, MB-500, AZ-204, or AZ-305
