Role: IT Lab Administrator
Location: Santa Clara, CA (Onsite)
Duration: Long Term Contract
This position involves maintaining the Hardware team’s lab resources located in corporate headquarters and other data centers. The role requires on-site activity (no telecommuting) and demands regular and predictable attendance. The IT Admin will work directly with the Test Engineers, Software Developers, diagnostic engineers and hardware engineers in the office to help with their systems-related issues and help them on a day-to-day basis. Also works on preventative maintenance by regularly checking on the resource consumption, running scripts, and updating/patching the servers.
· Receive switches and other equipment. Install equipment in lab racks.
· Add equipment to various databases and systems to facilitate management and use.
· Wire up connections between switches and build network topologies.
· Develop and Run scripts to maintain resources at optimal levels.
· Setup new servers using PXE boot and work on processes to optimize the onboarding.
· Familiarity with devops tools like - Ansible, Saltstack.
· Familiarity with Database technologies like - SQL.
· Familiarity with containerized technologies like - Docker.
· Proficient with Linux and networking.
· Maintain lab supplies such as cables, servers, console servers etc.
Qualifications
· Strong communication skills.
· Strong organizational skills to manage and prioritize the daily work activities
· Strong Linux skills, networking skills.
· Devops tools like - Saltstack and Ansible.
· Good programming skills - Shell scripting
· Having Python knowledge will be an added advantage
Minimum Education:
Bachelors or master''s in electrical engineering or computer science engineering.
