Project Overview
Client is launching a multi-track Cyber Modernization Program, including identity modernization, AI-driven security initiatives, SOC enhancements, and SIEM transformation. To execute effectively, the CISO requires a PMO extension layer between himself and the individual projects.
This PMO team will:
• Coordinate program activities
• Drive project execution
• Ensure alignment across identity, AI security, SOC, SIEM, and related initiatives
• Provide structure, reporting, governance, and escalation support
• Serve as the CISO’s operational arm to push execution across teams
The senior resources must operate like program managers with cybersecurity awareness, capable of advising, challenging, and directing project leads.
PMO Team Outputs
• Unified Cyber Modernization Program Plan
• Standardized governance, reporting, and tracking
• Project-level schedules, risks, dependencies, and KPI dashboards
• Weekly CISO updates (status, risks, decisions needed)
• Monthly executive-level summaries
• Resource alignment and workload balancing
• Issue escalation and mitigation planning
• Cross-functional coordination across Identity, AI, SOC, SIEM
Role Summary
Senior PMs act as the CISO’s “bridge” to all modernization projects. They oversee planning, execution, governance, and coordination for multiple cyber initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate end-to-end delivery of the Cyber Modernization Program
• Manage multiple project tracks: identity, AI security, SOC, SIEM, and supporting domains
• Facilitate project planning, scheduling, dependency mapping, and risk identification
• Provide recommendations, corrective actions, and process improvements
• Translate CISO-level direction into actionable project plans
• Prepare structured weekly, monthly, and executive-level updates
• Ensure consistent PMO structure, documentation, and governance across all projects
• Mentor junior PMO analyst and oversee cross-project workload alignment
• Help manage scope, timelines, cost control, and resource allocation
• Provide ad hoc subject-matter/process guidance when technical teams get stuck
• Act as extension of the CISO for prioritization, follow-ups, and escalation
Required Qualifications
• 15+ years of project/program management experience
• Strong background in cybersecurity or IT modernization programs
• Experience coordinating multiple concurrent workstreams
• Ability to drive difficult conversations with SMEs, vendors, and tech leaders
• Strong executive communication skills
• Comfortable working as the CISO’s operational partner
• Solid understanding of security domains (identity, SOC, SIEM, AI-related security).
