Senior Information Technology Project Manager

Program Management Office

Work Mode: Hybrid

Compensation: $180,000–$215,000 annually plus bonus

We are supporting a Senior Information Technology Project Manager to join a high-impact Program Management Office responsible for enterprise-wide strategic initiatives, grid modernization efforts, and large-scale technology transformation programs.  This role provides end-to-end ownership of complex, long-term initiatives that drive capacity, reliability, and resilience through innovative technologies and enterprise systems. The ideal candidate is a seasoned program leader who thrives in large, regulated environments and excels at translating strategy into execution.

This position requires a senior, senior-level IT program leader with a strong grid background, operating effectively in a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage one or more large, long-term programs or a portfolio of related initiatives, with responsibility for results related to cost, delivery approach, governance, and outcomes
  • Provide end-to-end program oversight including strategic alignment, integration, execution planning, governance, and risk management
  • Develop business plans, objectives, and initiatives aligned to enterprise strategy
  • Provide input into organizational objectives and policies while ensuring delivery of measurable results
  • Engage regularly with executive and senior leadership as a trusted advisor on complex business, technology, and regulatory initiatives
  • Establish, oversee, and enhance stage-gate governance processes for portfolio prioritization, funding, and investment decisions
  • Develop and maintain strategic technology and program roadmaps aligned to business, regulatory, and financial objectives
  • Lead complex, multi-phase implementation programs for enterprise systems, infrastructure, and grid-related technologies
  • Oversee system integrations, data migrations, and interfaces between emerging technology platforms and legacy systems
  • Partner closely with analytics teams, strategy partners, and technical subject matter experts to inform decisions and drive outcomes
  • Collaborate with legal, regulatory, and governance teams, including supporting initiatives tied to rate cases and regulatory proceedings
  • Operate effectively within a matrixed organization, driving accountability and execution through influence rather than direct authority
  • Produce high-quality written materials, including executive briefs, presentations, regulatory documentation, and decision memoranda
  • Ensure protection of physical, financial, cybersecurity, customer, and proprietary data in accordance with governance and compliance standards

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of IT project or program management experience, including ownership of large, long-term enterprise initiatives
  • Proven delivery of large-scale, cross-functional technology programs in technical, engineering, or business environments
  • Senior-level IT program leadership experience within a regulated utility or grid environment (grid experience is required)
  • Strong governance and risk management background, with the ability to operate in highly regulated settings
  • Financially savvy, with experience supporting or working within rate case or regulatory funding processes
  • Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives concurrently
  • Strong executive communication and writing skills, including executive- and regulatory-ready documentation
  • Demonstrated success leading through a matrixed organization, driving results through influence
  • Must hold at least one certification: Six Sigma, ITIL, PMP, Agile, or Scrum

Additional Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the United States, no visa sponsorship available

Additional Information

  • California residency required
  • Up to 20 percent travel may be required, including time in the field
