Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Application Programmer III to join our team within Collateral Valuation Services. The role will focus on delivering a Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) analysis solution for the Commercial Valuation Services line of business and supporting the Argus cloud migration for an external vendor application. The position will also drive remediation of non-permitted technology through upgrades to RHEL, WebLogic, and JDK in coordination with Technology Infrastructure partners and vendors.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and own feature delivery with high-quality outcomes and minimal technical debt.
- Adhere to enterprise standards for architecture, coding, testing, and quality assurance.
- Ensure solutions meet product acceptance criteria and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee compliance and security controls and support audit needs at the team level.
- Act as liaison for production activities and drive effective incident resolution.
- Partner with the Product Owner to maintain a clear, prioritized backlog with defined acceptance criteria.
- Guide work breakdown, estimation, and task execution to meet delivery timelines.
- Serve as a team lead and individual contributor while mentoring engineers on best practices.
- Provide peer reviews and enforce engineering excellence across code, tests, and deployments.
- Identify skill and role gaps; collaborate with the Technology Manager on staffing and upskilling.
- Support contingency planning to maintain bench strength and mitigate operational risk.
- Coordinate with TI partners and external vendors for Argus cloud onboarding and platform upgrades.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 7+ years in Java development: Core Java, J2EE, Spring 5, Hibernate, Spring MVC/Batch.
- Version control proficiency with GIT/Bitbucket or Subversion.
- Experience with WebLogic Server, performance tuning, and ETL processes across Windows and Linux.
- Strong SQL and PL/SQL across Oracle and SQL Server.
- Solid object-oriented programming principles.
- Frontend: JavaScript, CSS, and frameworks such as React, Angular 17+, and Node.js.
- Reporting: MicroStrategy and Tableau.
- CI/CD: Ansible, Jenkins, and Artifactory.
- Agile development experience and strong collaboration skills.
- Test automation with Selenium and Cucumber.
- Containerization and orchestration with Kubernetes and containers.
- Web services and cloud: AWS, REST APIs, and GraphQL.
- Familiarity with Oracle Exadata and MS SQL Server platforms.
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments.
- Understanding of microservices architecture and implementation.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in financial analytics solutions such as DCF modeling or valuation workflows.
- Background coordinating with external vendors and infrastructure partners for cloud migrations.
