Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

The SolarWinds SME is responsible for the end-to-end Network management, optimization, and support of the SolarWinds platform within the organization. This includes installation, upgrades, troubleshooting performance issues, advanced SQL reporting, and dashboard creation. The SME will work closely with IT and business stakeholders to ensure the monitoring environment delivers actionable insights and meets operational requirements. Design, create, and maintain network dashboards in SolarWinds to visualize performance metrics, alerts, and system status.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain SolarWinds network monitoring systems and modules.
• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries to generate custom and ad-hoc reports.
• Design, create, and maintain dashboards in SolarWinds to visualize performance metrics, alerts, and system status.
• Troubleshoot and resolve SolarWinds performance issues, ensuring optimal functionality and reliability.
• Analyze monitoring data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to assess monitoring and reporting needs and deliver solutions.
• Document system configurations, processes, troubleshooting steps, and reporting procedures.
• Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on SolarWinds best practices and capabilities.
• Support ongoing system enhancements, patches, and integrations.
• Mentor and train junior team members as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Extensive hands-on experience with SolarWinds products (e.g., NPM, NCM, SAM).
• Advanced proficiency in SQL for developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting queries and reports.
• Demonstrated ability to install, upgrade, and troubleshoot SolarWinds environments and performance issues.
• Experience designing and maintaining dashboards in SolarWinds.
• Solid understanding of network infrastructure, protocols, and monitoring concepts.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
