SAP Basis with Cloud Infrastructure

We are seeking an experienced Lead – Cloud Infrastructure & SAP Basis to provide technical and operational leadership for enterprise cloud infrastructure and SAP Basis environments across AWS, Azure, and on-premises platforms. The role will drive infrastructure operations, SAP landscape management, cloud provisioning, system upgrades, patching, release coordination, and continuous service improvement.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of cloud infrastructure and SAP Basis, along with the ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams, coordinate global operations, drive technical initiatives, and ensure infrastructure stability, security, performance, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead cloud infrastructure and SAP Basis operations across AWS, Azure, and on-premises environments.

• Provide technical leadership for SAP landscape management, including system administration, upgrades, kernel patching, transports, performance optimization, and system refreshes.

• Lead cloud provisioning, infrastructure upgrades, security patching, configuration management, and capacity planning.

• Drive SAP infrastructure modernization, hybrid cloud transformation, and on-premises-to-cloud migration initiatives.

• Oversee release planning, infrastructure changes, deployment readiness, and implementation validation across SAP and cloud environments.

• Coordinate with SAP Basis, cloud engineering, network, security, database, and application teams to resolve complex technical issues and ensure operational stability.

• Establish and maintain operational standards, technical documentation, monitoring practices, and infrastructure governance.

• Drive automation and operational efficiency using tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Ansible, and AWS Systems Manager.

• Collaborate with enterprise architecture and security teams to ensure infrastructure solutions align with technology standards and security requirements.

• Monitor service performance, availability, capacity, risks, and dependencies, driving timely resolution and continuous improvement.

• Ensure compliance with change management processes, internal SOPs, GxP, and applicable regulatory requirements.

• Provide technical updates, operational metrics, and infrastructure roadmaps to stakeholders and leadership.

• Lead and mentor geographically distributed technical teams across US, EMEA, and APAC.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.

• 8+ years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure, SAP Basis, or enterprise infrastructure operations.

• Strong experience with AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure and hybrid cloud environments.

• Good understanding of SAP Basis administration, preferably in SAP S/4HANA landscapes.

• Experience with SAP system upgrades, kernel patching, transports, system copies, performance tuning, and landscape management.

• Strong knowledge of infrastructure provisioning, security patching, release management, monitoring, and configuration management.

• Experience with infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code tools.

• Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager and SAP integration with cloud infrastructure.

• Strong understanding of ITIL, change management, incident management, and operational governance.

• Experience leading technical teams, managing stakeholders, and driving cross-functional technical initiatives.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated industries, particularly GxP and validated environments.

• Relevant AWS, Azure, SAP Basis, or ITIL certifications.

• Exposure to DevOps, DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.

• Experience with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar automation platforms.

• Experience with cloud migration, infrastructure modernization, and SAP S/4HANA transformation programs.

• Familiarity with Agile delivery practices and tools such as Jira and Confluence.

• Experience leading global infrastructure and SAP operations across multiple geographical regions
