Following the recent hiring of a new CFO, we are building out our in-house finance and accounting function to support scale, improve financial visibility, and strengthen internal controls.

Job Details

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to play a key role in building and managing our internal accounting operations. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic startup environment and is excited about establishing processes, improving systems, and contributing to strategic financial decision-making.

You will work closely with the CFO to transition accounting functions in-house, ensure accurate financial reporting, and help lay the foundation for a scalable finance organization.

Key Responsibilities
Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
Assist in building and maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Manage general ledger activity and ensure compliance with GAAP
Support the transition of accounting operations from external providers to an in-house model
Partner cross-functionally with teams such as operations, product, and compliance
Assist with audits, including preparation of schedules and coordination with external auditors
Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decisions
Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within accounting workflows
Support regulatory and compliance reporting as needed in a fintech environment

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA-eligible strongly preferred)
4-7+ years of accounting experience (mix of public accounting and/or startup experience preferred)
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
Experience with accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems)
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Experience in fintech or financial services is a plus
