Notes:

• The environment is a heavily online system, so a lot of hands-on experience with CICS is key for candidates.
• DB2 and IMS are helpful to have
• The systems they will be working on are Mainframe Authorizations which are the Back-End for Point of Sale systems.
• This is sending alerts to customers as quickly as possible for saying whether a credit card transaction is approved, denied, or possibly fraudulent.
• These are all DB2 roles not UNIX.

Job Summary:

• Seeking a seasoned Mainframe Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in both IMS DB/DC and IBM DB2 for z/OS to support its Credit Card Technology platforms
• The ideal candidate will bring deep experience with IMS hierarchical databases, DB2 relational systems, and a strong understanding of data availability, security, and compliance within the financial services sector.

Required Qualifications:

•             7+ years of DBA experience with IBM DB2 for z/OS and IMS DB/DC environments.

•             Advanced knowledge of COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and mainframe utilities.

•             Deep experience supporting high-availability, high-throughput systems, preferably in credit card or payment processing.

•             Proficient in DBRC, IMS log analysis, and database cloning techniques.

•             Solid understanding of data modelling, referential integrity, partitioning, and space management.

•             Experience with monitoring and performance tools (e.g., BMC, CA Insight, IBM OMEGAMON).

Key Responsibilities:

IMS & DB2 Administration

•             Administer, monitor, and maintain IMS databases (HDAM, HIDAM, HISAM, SHISAM) and DB2 databases (including tablespaces, indexes, and buffer pools).

•             Perform DBDGEN, PSBGEN, ACBGEN, and support IMS control blocks along with DB2 schema changes (DDL/DCL).

•             Execute backup, recovery, reorg, and utilities (e.g., REORG, LOAD, UNLOAD, COPY, QUIESCE, RECOVER) for both IMS and DB2 databases.

•             Tune DB2 subsystem parameters, access paths, and buffer pool configurations for optimal performance
