Calypso QA Engineer

About the Role

Client is seeking an experienced Calypso QA Engineer to support a leading banking client in the United States. The ideal candidate will have strong experience testing the Nasdaq Calypso platform and a solid understanding of capital-markets products, trade lifecycles, and front-to-back banking operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and test cases for Calypso applications.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing.
• Validate Calypso configurations, customizations, workflows, engines, interfaces, reports, and scheduled tasks.
• Test front-office, middle-office, and back-office processes across the complete trade lifecycle.
• Validate trade booking, confirmations, settlements, positions, accounting, collateral, risk, and reporting functions.
• Test interfaces and data flows between Calypso and upstream or downstream systems.
• Perform database validation using SQL and troubleshoot data-related issues.
• Identify, document, track, and retest defects through resolution.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and business users.
• Support user-acceptance testing, production releases, upgrades, and post-production validation.
• Create and maintain automated regression tests where applicable.
• Ensure testing activities comply with established quality, audit, and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

• Strong QA experience with the Nasdaq Calypso platform.
• Hands-on experience testing Calypso implementations, enhancements, integrations, or upgrades.
• Good knowledge of capital markets and the complete trade lifecycle.
• Experience testing financial products such as fixed income, foreign exchange, derivatives, money markets, or securities.
• Knowledge of Calypso workflows, engines, messages, reports, scheduled tasks, settlements, and confirmations.
• Strong SQL skills for backend and data validation.
• Experience with API, integration, and batch-process testing.
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments.
• Experience preparing test plans, test cases, traceability matrices, and defect reports.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with test-automation tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, or Playwright.
• Programming or scripting experience with Java or Python.
• Experience testing REST and SOAP APIs using Postman or similar tools.
• Knowledge of Jira, Azure DevOps, ALM, or another defect-management platform.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum delivery methodologies.
• Previous experience working with major banks or financial-services organizations.
• Calypso techno-functional experience is an advantage.
