The Intermediate Systems Engineer supports the Air Force DCGS PMO by providing systems engineering support to the Imagery Intelligence (IMINT) baseline, the Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) baseline, the System Release (SR) baseline, the infrastructure, and the modifications to the infrastructure or baselines to ensure cohesive multi-platform integration. This includes engineering and integration support required for the design, development, integration, testing, troubleshooting assistance, and delivery of AF DCGS infrastructure, and/or software application baseline to the AF DCGS Software Integration Lab (DSIL) as well as multiple DCGS sites. This shall also include tailored transition support from legacy architectures to the AF DCGS Open Architecture (OA) as well as the support required for existing systems due to modifications, sensor upgrades, and/or baseline changes that directly impact planned and existing systems upgrades.

Responsibilities
  • Applies advanced, state-of-the-art information technology skills in the analysis, specification, design, development, integration, and acquisition of systems
  • Ensures systems and applications are compliant with applicable standards specified in task orders
  • Tests and installs COTS and GOTS products and applications, and integrates them into the client's environment
  • Provides on-site support for minor requirements that do not meet functional specifications; modifies programs to be compliant with specifications
  • May provide team leadership or consulting support on complex tasks
  • OCONUS and CONUS travel may be required to perform efforts required under this contract at temporary duty stations at other Air Force Bases, DoD facilities, DoD contractor facilities and at other locations as requested by the government
  • Support the Imagery ART Management team to manage RFCs from cradle to grave while coordinating with other offices inside the PMO to ensure compliance with CM, Cybersecurity, testing as well as outside organizations such as testing organizations, and stakeholders.
  • Draft and present Chief Systems Engineer Solutions Briefs, Technical Solution Briefs (TSB), Configuration Authorization Briefs (CAB), and Configuration Control Boards (CCB).
  • Facilitate meetings as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline
  • Bachelors degree and two (2) years of experience in assignments involving complex systems and knowledge of specialized areas in communications engineering, electronic engineering, communications security, network analysis, ECM/ECCM, interoperability analysis, system standards, military operations, program analysis, programming, cost analysis
  • Masters degree and recent experience in assignments involving complex systems, communications engineering, electronic engineering, communications security, network analysis, ECM/ECCM, interoperability analysis, system standards, military operations, program analysis, programming, cost analysis
  • 7+ years of general information technology experience with at least 4+ years of specialized experience involving complex systems and knowledge of specialized areas in communications engineering, electronic engineering, communications security, network analysis, ECM/ECCM, interoperability analysis, system standards, military operations, program analysis, programming, cost analysis
  • Experience with the development, sustainment, integration, and support of the AF Distributed Common Ground System (AF DCGS)
  • TS clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain SCI required
  • Successfully pass background and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Successfully pass background and drug screening
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and CI/CD practices for streamlined development and deployment workflows.
  • DevSecOps experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to support and complete highly complex assignments in support of one or more of the following disciplines: communications engineering, electronic engineering, communications security, network analysis, ECM/ECCM, interoperability analysis, system standards, military operations, program analysis, programming, cost analysisList of qualifications which include education/experience/certifications/clearances (quantifiable)
  • Knowledge of document imaging, document management, and workflow COTS and GOTS systems (e.g., InfoImage, Paragon)
  • Ability to provide support in the following areas:
