Who we're looking forThe Toyota Financial Services Technology Operations Center is looking for a passionate and highly motivated ServiceNow Engineer (IT Operations & Asset Management).
Reporting to the National Manager of the TOC, the person in this role will play a key role in the governance, care and feeding, and uplifting of our Configuration Management Database. You will work with multiple stakeholders and Engineering teams in maintaining an accurate and reliable CMDB that supports or technology needs.
What you'll be doing- Serve as the SME or Lead administrator/developer for the ServiceNow platform with deep specialization in ITOM, ITAM, CMDB, and CSDM.
- Design, build, and maintain ServiceNow capabilities including Discovery, Service Mapping, HAM/SAM, CMDB health, and operational integrations.
- Own the CMDB data model, ensure alignment to CSDM, and drive continuous improvement of data quality, governance, and lifecycle management.
- Develop and maintain automation, workflows, integrations, and custom applications within ServiceNow to support operational efficiency.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Infra, Network, Security, Operations, Asset, Vendor Mgmt.) to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Act as a platform steward-promoting best practices, ensuring performance, and guiding stakeholders on ServiceNow capabilities and roadmap.
- Lead troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and optimization activities across ITOM and ITAM processes.
- Support platform upgrades, release planning, testing, and governance activities.
What you bring- ServiceNow administration or development experience.
- Deep expertise with IT Operations Management (ITOM) including Discovery, Service Mapping, MID Servers, Event Mgmt., and CMDB integrations.
- Experience with IT Asset Management (ITAM) including HAM, SAM, asset lifecycle workflows, recon engines, and licensing models.
- Experience with CMDB architecture, class modeling, relationship management, reconciliation, and data governance.
- Experience of the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and practical experience structuring services accordingly.
- Experience designing and implementing custom configurations, integrations, API-based connections, and automation solutions.
- Experience of scripting and development skills: JavaScript, Glide, Flow Designer, and platform automation tools.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work directly with technical and business stakeholders.
- A problem-solving mindset with the ability to drive continuous platform improvement.
Added bonus if you have- ServiceNow certifications (e.g., CSA, CAD, CIS-Discovery, CIS-Service Mapping, CIS-ITAM, CMDB/CSDM certs).
- Experience with AIOps, Observability, Event Management, or cloud-native discovery.
- Background in infrastructure, networking, cloud (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform), or monitoring tools.
- Experience leading a small team or mentoring junior admins/developers.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum, ITIL v4, or operational frameworks.
