Our client, a telecommunications company located in Stamford, CT, is in need of a Senior Project Manager for an initial 6 month contract with a high likelihood of extension. The Senior Project Manager will work onsite 5 days per week for the first couple of months, with one remote flex day available after that period. This is a high-stakes role supporting a fast-paced Outage Management team with a significant backlog and upcoming merger-related workload.
The Senior Project Manager will manage multiple concurrent projects tied to outage management, customer impact analysis, planned maintenance, storm-related downtime, and customer credit calculations. The team is responsible for identifying impacted customers, outage duration, and appropriate customer credits, ranging from residential customers to large Fortune 500 enterprise accounts.
This individual will manage the full project lifecycle from definition through implementation, including requirements gathering, project planning, milestone tracking, stakeholder communication, documentation, reporting, and change management. In addition to traditional Project Management responsibilities, this person must be comfortable wearing many hats and acting as an Analyst when needed and performing data analysis, including running SQL queries to analyze outage and customer impact data.
Responsibilities include developing project plans, driving milestones, managing scope, cost, schedule, and quality measures, communicating with stakeholders, directing project resources, and preparing documentation, status reports, budgets, and leadership updates. This person must be able to operate at a fast pace, work through ambiguity, identify process gaps, recommend solutions, and help reduce backlog through practical, results-oriented execution.
Required Skills:
- 10+ years of Project Management experience within large enterprise environments managing the full project lifecycle from project definition through implementation
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong experience developing project plans, driving milestones, and managing scope, cost, schedule, and quality measures
- Experience improving processes, reducing backlog, creating efficiencies, or delivering measurable operational improvements
- Ability to gather requirements, document processes, and function as a Business Analyst when needed
- Experience in performing data analysis and running SQL queries as needed
- Experience preparing project documentation, status reports, budgets, and leadership updates
- Strong communication and Powerpoint presentation skills with the ability to work effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and c-level leadership
- Ability to work outside of standard business hours as needed in support of outage-related work
Preferred Skills:
- Telecom, cable, internet, network operations, outage management, billing, or customer credit experience
- Experience supporting merger, integration, or large-scale transformation initiatives
