Database Operations Lead – Oracle
Location: Warren, NJ
Engagement: Onshore / Client-Facing

We are seeking an experienced Database Operations Lead with deep Oracle expertise to support a complex enterprise database environment spanning Oracle EBS, Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, Amazon RDS Custom for Oracle, and GxP-regulated applications supporting clinical, manufacturing, and commercial operations. This is an onshore, client-facing position — the candidate must communicate clearly and confidently with technical teams and business stakeholders on database issues, incidents, and operational status.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary onshore point of contact for  all Oracle database operational matters
  • Lead day-to-day Oracle DBA activities including installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades across on-prem and cloud environments
  • Support Oracle databases underpinning ERP systems (Oracle EBS / Oracle Fusion Cloud), manufacturing planning, and supply chain applications
  • Monitor database performance, availability, and capacity; proactively identify and resolve issues
  • Communicate directly with  client stakeholders on incident status, root cause analysis, and remediation plans
  • Support GxP-compliant database environments used in clinical, lab, and biopharmaceutical manufacturing systems, adhering to 21 CFR Part 11 and FDA cGMP requirements
  • Assist with Oracle workloads running on Amazon RDS Custom, supporting cloud-first database strategy on AWS
  • Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes across production environments
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and compliance teams to support operational and project needs
  • Maintain documentation including SOPs, runbooks, and change records in validation and compliance standards
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide support for critical production environments

    Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of Oracle database administration experience in a production enterprise environment
  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle 12c/19c or later
Experience supporting Oracle EBS (E-Business Suite) and/or Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP environments
  • Familiarity with GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and FDA cGMP compliance requirements for database systems
  • Proven ability to communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical client stakeholders — client interaction is a core part of this role
  • Proficiency in Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, and ASM
  • Solid understanding of backup/recovery strategies and high availability configurations
  • Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning
