Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) Functional Consultant to support the operational integration of a newly acquired refinery into existing midstream oil and gas operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in designing, configuring, implementing, and optimizing SAP PM processes within the Oil & Gas industry. This role requires deep expertise in integrating SAP PM with Materials Management (MM), Warehouse Management (WM), Finance (FI), and Controlling (CO).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the assessment, design, configuration, and deployment of SAP PM processes for refinery operations.

  • Support the integration and standardization of maintenance processes across refinery and midstream assets.

  • Design and optimize integration between SAP PM and SAP MM/WM for:

    • MRO procurement

    • Spare parts management

    • Material reservations

    • Goods movements

  • Manage integration between SAP PM and FI/CO for:

    • Maintenance cost settlement

    • Maintenance order costing

    • Work center rates

    • CAPEX and OPEX tracking

  • Standardize maintenance workflows, including:

    • Preventive maintenance

    • Corrective maintenance

    • Shutdown activities

    • Turnaround and outage management

  • Lead SAP PM master data activities, including cleanup, mapping, migration, and validation of:

    • Equipment

    • Functional Locations

    • Bills of Materials (BOMs)

    • Maintenance Plans

    • Task Lists

  • Work closely with plant engineers, maintenance teams, operations, supply chain, and finance stakeholders.

  • Support change management, user adoption, testing, and deployment activities.

  • Provide functional leadership during refinery integration, SAP rollouts, and asset migration initiatives.

  • Ensure SAP PM processes align with refinery operations, asset management strategies, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 8+ years of hands-on SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) functional experience.

  • Strong experience working in the Oil & Gas industry, preferably within Refining or Midstream operations.

  • Strong hands-on experience integrating SAP PM with MM, WM, FI, and CO.

  • Experience with refinery asset management and maintenance operations.

  • Strong understanding of maintenance planning, execution, and work order management.

  • Experience supporting preventive, corrective, shutdown, turnaround, and outage maintenance processes.

  • Hands-on experience with SAP PM master data management and migration.

  • Experience with SAP implementation, rollout, M&A integration, asset migration, or industrial facility integration projects.

  • Strong understanding of maintenance costing, order settlement, CAPEX, and OPEX.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting refinery integration or acquisition-related system integration projects.

  • Experience working with pipelines, compressor stations, terminals, or other midstream assets.

  • Knowledge of refinery turnaround and shutdown management.

  • Experience working directly with engineering, operations, maintenance, supply chain, and finance teams.

Work Requirement

  • This is a 100% onsite role in Houston, TX.

  • Candidates must be available to work onsite 5 days per week.
