Organizational setting:
Our client's ERP system is a continuous organizational transformation, enabling high-quality and cost-effective service delivery for evolving United Nations mandates anywhere in the world. By updating skills, harmonizing practices and applying global technology, the ERP system maximizes the productivity of the organization's human, financial and material resources. The ERP System transcends organizational, geographical and functional barriers, fostering transparency, accountability, empowerment, sharing and unity across the organization.
Background
The organization is undertaking a strategic ERP modernization initiative to migrate its existing SAP ECC landscape to SAP S/4HANA. To support this transformation, the ERP system seeks an experienced SAP BTP Integration Suite Architect to lead and perform the hands-on migration of SAP PI/PO integrations to SAP Cloud Integration Services (CIS), redesign interfaces for S/4HANA, and establish secure, supportable cloud integration and API management capabilities.
The consultant will work across Finance, Treasury, SWIFT, HCM, SCM and infrastructure workstreams and will be accountable for actual integration design, build, testing, deployment, cutover and hypercare activities, rather than advisory services only.
Responsibilities:
As part of the Delivery team, and under the supervision of the Integration Lead, the SAP BTP Integration Suite Architect will be responsible for the following duties:
? Assess the SAP S/4HANA functional and technical impact on existing integrations, review interfaces individually, identify changed endpoints, data structures and protocols, and eliminate deprecated components once target endpoints and destinations are confirmed.
? Perform hands-on migration of SAP PI/PO interfaces to SAP Integration Suite Cloud Integration, including design, configuration, build, unit testing, documentation and deployment of production-ready integration flows.
? Build and unit test CIS integration flows using adapters and protocols including SOAP, REST, SFTP, File, IDoc, JDBC, RFC and OData.
? Convert PI/PO mappings and orchestration logic to CIS equivalents, including message mappings, XSLT transformations, Java-to-Groovy rewrites, value mappings, content modifiers, exception subprocesses and reusable integration components.
? Implement multi-receiver routing using CIS Router steps and reproduce existing PI receiver-determination and conditional-routing logic.
? Reimplement custom PI B2B integrations using standard SAP Integration Suite B2B capabilities, including SAP Integration Advisor and Trading Partner Management.
? Design and implement S/4HANA integration patterns, including OData and REST APIs, IDoc changes, event-driven integration and migration of appropriate RFC-based interfaces to REST or released APIs.
? Design and implement API-led integration patterns using SAP API Management, and configure required API policies in Policy Designer, including authentication, authorization, throttling, quotas, traffic control, logging and threat protection.
? Configure and support SAP Integration Suite monitoring, alerting, message tracing, exception handling, retry and reprocessing mechanisms, operational dashboards and support procedures.
? Implement CIS security controls, including OAuth, certificate and key management, Secure Parameter Store, secure connectivity, role-based access and separation of duties.
? Use and support relevant SAP BTP integration services, including API Management, Event Mesh and Edge Integration Cell, where required by the target architecture.
? Collaborate with FI, Treasury, HCM, SCM, Basis, security and infrastructure teams to analyse interface impacts, validate business and technical requirements and define integration changes required for S/4HANA.
? Support system integration testing, defect resolution, regression testing and post-go-live parallel runs for critical FI, Treasury, SWIFT, HCM and SCM interfaces.
? Prepare and execute integration cutover plans, transports, production deployments, go-live activities, stabilization and hypercare support.
? Update the interface readiness tracker weekly, maintain risks and dependencies, and escalate critical blockers within 24 hours.
? Produce and maintain technical designs, interface specifications, mappings, configuration documents, test evidence, deployment instructions, operational procedures and knowledge-transfer materials.
Required Experience and skills:
A minimum of 12 years of progressively responsible experience in full life-cycle SAP integration architecture, development, implementation and production support, including the following:
? SAP Integration Suite and PI/PO migration skills (required):
? Demonstrated hands-on experience migrating SAP PI/PO interfaces to SAP Integration Suite Cloud Integration; experience must include actual build and delivery, not advisory work only.
? Advanced experience developing CIS integration flows with SOAP, REST, SFTP, File, IDoc, JDBC, RFC and OData adapters and protocols.
? Advanced experience converting PI/PO message mappings, XSLT, Java mappings and routing logic to CIS message mappings, XSLT, Groovy scripts and Router steps.
? Strong Groovy scripting skills, including Java mapping rewrites, payload transformation, dynamic routing, error handling and reusable utilities.
? Experience with SAP Integration Advisor and Trading Partner Management for B2B integration migration and implementation.
? Experience configuring monitoring, alerting, exception handling, tracing, retries and operational support processes in SAP Integration Suite.
? API Management, BTP and security skills (required):
? Hands-on experience with SAP API Management, API-led integration architecture and API policy configuration using Policy Designer.
? Experience with SAP Event Mesh and Edge Integration Cell, including selection and implementation of appropriate hybrid or event-driven integration patterns.
? Experience implementing OAuth, certificates, Secure Parameter Store, role-based access, secure connectivity and transport controls in SAP BTP and Integration Suite.
? Knowledge of SAP BTP account structure, subaccounts, entitlements, destinations, connectivity, transport and lifecycle management.
? S/4HANA and functional integration experience (required):
? Demonstrated SAP S/4HANA integration experience, including OData and REST APIs, IDoc changes, released APIs and RFC-to-REST modernization patterns.
? Strong SAP PI/PO and SAP S/4HANA experience, including impact assessment and remediation of interfaces during ECC-to-S/4HANA migration.
? Experience with SAP Finance, Treasury, SWIFT or financial messaging, HCM and SCM standard and custom interface patterns.
? Experience supporting SIT, parallel runs, cutover, production deployment, go-live and hypercare for business-critical integrations.
? Other skills (desirable):
? Experience in a large, complex, international or public-sector SAP environment with multiple concurrent workstreams and high-volume, mission-critical interfaces.
? Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, stakeholder-management and knowledge-transfer skills.
? Relevant SAP certifications in SAP Integration Suite, SAP BTP, API Management or SAP S/4HANA integration are desirable.
